It's become very hard to do here - many field restrictions. Here's the rest of the TV line.

Cmon guys, work it out. You have many fine fields up there, and Sam's Town was always great. Get a committee of young guys together ( non- IMAC'ers ), and set it up. I know that its difficult for Warren because he must be about 95 by now.

AMA12909 - maybe just posting a link to your photos would be better if you can't post resized pictures.

Ken - good coverage my friend. How's the hand? There are a few events upcoming down here in the 'Bama/Florida region, and by chance I have those weekends off this year. If there's any interest, I'll try to get coverage of those for RCU.

Great photos, thanks for sharing. Wish I could have gone.

That B-25 is amazing. Ziroli?
And the mustang with four-blade prop... i thought it was a real plane in the first photo I saw. Electric?

WOTR 2009 WAS a GREAT time! The 4-bladed prop Mustang is actually the FULL SIZE aircraft that made a couple of passes during the noontime show! Odd, but I think some of the models actually look more realistic. The B-25 is Paul LeTourneau's and enlarged from Ziroli plans and it is 1/5 scale which makes it huge.

Man thats flippn brutal. I fly out there @ loveair. If you have any better info about where it was last seen etc, PM me and I will see if I can help.

Not to make you more sick, but harvest is in a few weeks so you need to move on it. One of my neighbors is a pilot for heli support, that may be what you need but it would not be cheap.

Dino, Wayne, John, Scott, Merlin's son and I looked for it Sunday morning for 4 hours combing the cornfield. Its hard to say exactly where it landed because the hill prevented us from seeing where it ended up. I was almost tempted to get a video camera attached to a model airplane to scout the area. I am still recovering from the mosquito bites received looking for it. It would be great if someone there that can help retrieve Scottdog's plane, I hope it does not end up in our corn bread.

Next year, I am going to bring my RC Logo 600 3D heli with a camera attached just in case this thing happens again. I would hate to see this happen to anyone, specially as a visitor because you gotta go home and giving up on your model and you know its there can be really tough.

Just to let you know Scottdog's plane was a 1st place winner in 2008 at the LA - AMA show. He spent 2-3 years working on it part time while building for others. You don't see many Pica kits win static events.

We have still been looking for your plane. I know of at least one full scale pilot that has flown over. I went into the corn last week as I personally saw it go down. I did not have luck though. That corn is very tall. Do not give up hope as there are a lot of full scale pilots in and close to the club. We just need a spotter to go along.

Man do I feel your pain there. I had a 109 that was given up to the corn gods a couple years ago now. Looked for 3 days all over the place, and even had an ultra light fly over and still never found it. Best of luck. Tough to come to grips with. My money is on you getting it back though. Tight knit group that'll help a lost wingman home to base hopefully.

That really sucks. I know I've spent countless hours helping people fin planes in the corn.

What I do now when I head out to look,
1) Get the best info on the general direction and distance you can (this is always a guess unless I seen it for myself)
2) use a hand held GPS and figure out how to follow a vector or plot 2 points.
3) use the GPS to plot everywhere you look (leave breadcrumbs) this keeps you from having to search the same area more than once
4) Allow for overlap in the search pattern so you see every square foot twice
5) It's always further out than you think

I've had great luck when I have a good vector; I almost always find the plane 1st trip out.

Another lower tech option
1) The person/persons who enter the corn carry a pole with a flag
2) Someone stays back at the field and guilds the searchers via cell phone or radios
3) You would be amazed at how quickly the searchers get off course without the aid of a spatter of GPS

Good luck
PS our club owns a GPS and keeps it at the field for the club members to use, but I think I'm the only one who actually figured out how to do this.

I appreciate all the comments and suggestions, this means alot to me. I am still holding on to some hope that I'll get a phone call telling me they found my baby.
She meant alot to me and to the guys that went out on the search, you guys are awesome thanks. If only we had more time and the right equipment and that awesome instruction vector from Killer Matt, I will definitely use that if I get into this situation again. Thanks guys.

There was a report that parts were found yesterday that went out as a general e-mail to the club membership. I personally saw the parts and do not think they belong to your mustang. There was a full wing tip that was dark blue with a foam core. Look like a Hellcat to me. no green. Also a very small (short) flap that was the same color, navy blue.
Another note, the corn in question is for scyledge (sp?) so it will not be harvested until late. Possibly November. I just wanted to give you some possitive feedback.
