Ken,
The video coverage of WOTR on RC Universe's YouTube channel is fantastic! Thanks for all of your hard work and STAMINA standing out there non-stop for three days capturing all that great footage.

Larry,
Naw, my hand didn't slow me down at all. My hand is completely recovered now, with just a little bit of pain where the cuts happened. The real world is what's slowing me down.

I am working on the B-17 Gathering coverage as well. I will finish wrapping that up and get it out as soon as I have Warbirds Over The Rockies done.

I heard someone found ScottDogg's P51 ShangriLa! After 2.5 months, hopefully not much rain or snow

Yes it is true, Scott's P-51 was found last weekend by a farmer while harvesting the corn field. The plane is in remarkable condition considering where it was and that we had 22.5" of snow 2 weeks ago - all gone now. It apparently came down nose first precisely between 2 rows. The leading edges were impacted by the corn just outside the gear mounts. while the fuselage was apparently undamaged. Mice made a nest in one wheel well and consumed the tire to create space for their winter home.

I only see two blemishes and some good weathering!

I must say Dino' did great flying it and for the most part very little damaged from a dead stick. Them mice can do some serious damage though! Last time they chewed my aileron servo wire.

I am so very happy, and would like to thank everyone that assisted me with the search of my airplane. And thanks to Dino for doing such a great job of saving the plane I can't believe how well it survived. The repairs will take no time and it will be back in the air. And for the guys in Colorado a big thank you.

Scott:

The airplane was about 150 yds east of the west edge of the corn field and 15-20 yds north of the south edge. Very fortunate that it went in in the direction of the rows, cross rows would have resulted in major carnage.

Wow. Fantastic. Can't figure out which is better...finding it, or the lack of damage putting a plane down in a cornfield, or the awesome crew getting it back! Great story. Happy for you Scott.

Ok everybody. The coverage article is finished and it went live tonight on the RCU Magazine. I do hope that you all enjoy the article as much as I enjoyed covering the event. Brian sure knows how to put on a class event and he deserves a pat on the back. If you couldn't make it to the event this year I highly recommend trying to get there next year, it's definitely worth the trip.

RCU Coverage of Warbirds Over The Rockies 2009

P.S. Yes, I already know about the broken link to the one video. I've got a message to our webmaster to get it fixed.
