also when you buy the alum package the main reason they have them are for spare parts and looks not only to upgrade them

also i recomend that you try different length set ups on your transmitter antenna. try all the way out and half way out and distences when you get it working because that is the only problem with redcat is somtimes they send you a falty jacked up radio.

well its not recommended to put aluminum on your car because for one they cost alot and if you ever crash they have a really good chance of breaking thus making you spend alot more moeny. where as the plastic gives you some flex and are cheaper to replace. also aluminum adds weight thus making the vehicle slower. its personal preference you can either use them or not.

if you like buying more expensive parts, along with other parts go ahead and put aluim arms on your redcat....I had a redcat with aluim arms on it and it didnt take long to realize plastic was the way to go....not only did the aluim arms get messed up, it also sent big shock to the connecting plactic parts breaking them...huge waste of money in my opinion..

now if its on an onroader it may not be so bad...you get that bling factor ya want....not many people jump and try to beat the tar outta onroaders...

I got them for looks and durability, but to me plastic IS the way to go. Seems to hold in place better with the screws and not having to use loctite, and I'd rather have a plastic arm break, rather than an aluminum one pushing other parts in places they don't belong!

I'll have to run over to the hobby shop and see if I can pick up a servo... I ran the Hurricane XTR today, and had a friggin' blast! Thing is amazingly fast with massive torque! Too bad the shell burned all around the exhaust pipe and header... I will have to say that the little Vertex .18 is a great engine. Thing is super reliable for me, and never hesitates to start up! Much easier to tune than the SH .28... Oh well. Broke my XTM's shocks and whatnot today as well! Man oh man, money money money...

the only problem is, is that redcat makes cheap parts wich tend to break easier. No offense to redcat but ive been reading alot and me personally I bash the hell out of my ofna lx ultra buggy and my mini mgt 3.0 and im starting to think about not buying redcat because im not 100% sure if they can hold up to the abuse.

all depends on which redcat you have....I have 2 1/8th buggies that started life out as redcats (they have mostly himoto parts on them now) and they are pretty solid...granted they dont get ran much now since I have the rxb-1 and rxt-1 (they arent as solid as these and dont handle near as well)...but they are pretty good basher buggies...

now redcat has the hurricane xrt...I'm sure they are an improvement to the first hurricane but I dont own one...at first I thought the new hurricane and monsoon xrt's were mirror images as my rxb and rxt but have found out different...would like to see a hurricane xrt in person to see how well built it is...but I have to many rc's I dont drive now so I wont buy one..

with that said I was very happy with my hurricanes.....although I wouldnt try to race one they held up to some serious abuse (once I got all the aluim arms off them and fixed the lil quirks they have, which isnt much)....I'm not a fan of their older 1/10ths...
