Hi all!

I was just talking to a guy who claimed that spektrum 2.4gHz was no good when it came to marine models. He were talking about i should use some special reciver, but that only has 3-channels.

I could use some help to pick what radio to use with my submarine project. I was planning to use the spektrum dx5e.. but now I don't know. Any sugestions or thought, help is much apriciated

Thank you all in advance,
Gabriel

2.4 GHz should work with surface ships, but it will not work with submarines.

I don't know Sweden's laws on model radio frequencies, but here in the United States, the most common frequency for subs is 75 MHz.

Just that lower frequencies penetrate water better than higher frequencies.

Yeah lower is better, which is why real subs use ULF antenna and such.

Since you are in Europe you should investigate what is legal for your area.
In the United States, 75mhz is allocated for surface vehicles, and also six frequencies on 27mhz.
27mhz is probably the lowest frequency available internationally, but are often limited to two or
three channels per transmitter...

In Europe, 35mhz is also a legal frequency, however, there may be some restrictions regarding
aircraft or surface use.

Hi,
I tried 2.4 in my dynamic sub and it was great till the sub hull became awash and the range dropped to 2 - 3 ft. Spektrum dx7.
Now use 40 mhz in the uk which works great. bill
