After 20+ yrs the faithfull saw bit the big one..
Arbor bearings went bad and stalled the motor, instant smoke and stink, but no fire.

Time to buy a new Saw, but Dremel no longer makes the old 580 and has no blades available..

There are some used ones for sale on ebay, but am thinking about a little better and of course more bucks. Anybody got a Micro Mark?

URL: http://www.dxmarket.com/micromark/

Or can someone point me in another direction..
I already have a 10" but don't want to bring it into the house modeling area. $ 299.95 is just a bit more than what I want to pay with out some
recomendations.

I already have a bandsaw, power belt sander scroll saw and drill press, all bench mounted.

TIA

I have been using the Micro-mark hobby saw for a couple years, use it almost every day. The blade seems kind of flimsy to look at, but I have been cutting balsa, plywood (up to 1/4" and plastic with it and don't notice any dulling of the blade. On occasion I have wished for more depth of cut, but I'd have to say this has given me good service. I'd get another if this one pooped out (which it shows no signs of).

Thanks for the replies all, am watching a couple of auctions. Also heard that there is a NIB Dremel 580 for sale at a yard sale here.

Thanks Again!
