I went ahead and bought the Waco 1/6 scale from Quantum Models, to hopefully start building during the coming winter. The kit is quite something and the plans are well laid out. The plan shows one servo for the four ailerons, which I'm quite a bit surprised to see, although most probably showing the servos in the lower wings don't make it look scale wise. I think it was Kregg that mentioned he had installed one servo in each of the lower wings, total two servos for the four ailerons. A friend suggested that I should do the same to prevent slop, one servo is not enough. I'm still studying the plans and going over the manual and the kit itself. Another guy that works at Hobby Hobby in Mississauga Ontario, has a 1/6 Waco and he built it with one and installed a high torque servo, he says it flies just as well and it's a beauty to fly. He built it scale and according to the plans but changed some of the hardware for better quality one.
Just like you guys said it's not a shake and bake kit, but building is always a challenge, and if we don't challenge ourselves life's a drag. When the time comes I intend to install an OS FS 91 Surpass 4s with a pump or a Saito. Any of you guys know if the Saito FA-91 RC AAC comes with a pump. I was told a pump is a must.

Status: offline 		My two cents worth. I don't know why pumps should be a must. I have owned and ran many,many 4 bangers and and only one of them had a pump and it was a pain in the a**. The 91 should haul it fine. Just don't overpower it and please come back off the power in a dive. I have had 3 Waco's, one 60 size and 2 of the 120 size and all 3 of them had a tendency for aileron flutter if you tried to fly them too fast. They are probably one, the if not the best flying bipe out there but the key is power management. The plane knows it's limitations and you have to respect them. Because of the above I would go with 2 servo's for ailerons cause the one only would introduce more slop into mixture and only magnify the problem.
