Then maybe you can aim for small farm animals after that. [/QUOTE]

Now there is one that almost happened today. Our field is in the middle of a bunch of corn fields. A deer came galloping across our runway today. I can see trying to explain that one to the authorities. LOL

Haven't been close to many critters, but I did have a stupid Crop-Duster zooming overhead intentionally trying to spook us. I thought to myself after the third pass. "I could still salvage the electronics and engine,, maybe" One time prior I heard that he actually flew "under" one of the planes. We never seen him crop dusting either. Oh well, I would have just lost my plane, he would have lost his life and maybe others so I refrained. Too bad I don't know where he lived. I could have sent Hance to fly around his truck. That'd teach him.

Cropdusting = the closest thing to RC flying that a full size pilot can experience.

As opposed to those miniature pilots we put in in our RC planes?

Actually, I have always enjoyed watching cropdusters on the rare occasions I have seen them. I think the full size pilots really make a difference. :-)

Are you talking about flying a cropduster or an RC plane down the highway. Either way, sounds cool if you aren't caught. I recall a video with someone flying an RC plane next to themselves in a boat. Then they landed the plane right back into the boat at a good clip.

...if the FAA knew about that you would be royally screwed, probably wouldn't be flying full scale again. You are supposed to stay 1000' above people, houses, etc...

I asked my flight instructor once if we could buzz the ground, he said no. But if we fly out to the middle of nowhere I can go for it, because the chance of being caught is about zilch. Dang though... that had to be fun zipping around like that, probably scared the crap out of the people in their cars, lol. I'm jealous now...

brschmid, seems kind of ignorant and irresponsible to me. Do you think maybe the people on the ground didn't want to play your game? I hope you don't fly R/C like that. Cropdusters die all the time. They fly close to the edge. It's their choice. That's fine, but when you involve people minding their own business. that's wrong.

Not quite right. The reg says 1000' separation.

It's perfectly legal to fly over the open prarie with your wheels bouncing, so long as you are at least 1000' to one side or the other.

Safe is another matter.

Bill.

PS: As I recall, the 1000' separation is in a populated area, it's 500' in an unpopulated area. wr.
