I would like some input on engines like the 3W 75 and the ZDZ 80. Are there any bad tendencies with the ZDZ? Throttle transition, etc. Thanks.

I have two ZDZ80's and have nothing but good things to say about them!

Plenty of power, and very reliable. Good ignition setup (shielded).

I like my 80's so much I'm considering buying two ZDZ50's for a twin project.

The problem I have with ZDZ is the availability. I wanted a ZDZ 50 but did not wish to wait. I could not even get a promise date. I decided on a 3W50 but have not started it yet. My brother has a new 3W75 that runs great and is strong. Hope I made the right choice. John

The 3W 50 is a good and powerful engine. It is heavier than the ZDZ 50 but also a bit stronger. I have had 2 of the 3W 50s for 3 years and I like them as engines. I think you will too.

rc bugman have you finished the cap 232 you were working on. You said you were going to use a 3W on it. I have a hanger 9 80" cap232 I am using my 3w 50 on. Thanks

I used a 3W-48 twin on my 80" cap. It flies like a dream and balanced without any extra wt. It also has unlimited vertical at 50-75% throttle. The 50 is more powerful but has more vibration than the 48 twin. The construction may be a little light for a large single cylinder engine.
