Hi there all

I have just acquired a showtime 50, with some very slight damage. My question is, will I be able to fly this OK with an OS .40 two stroke? I am not looking to do any crazy 3D stuff, just loops, rolls etc.

If it will be underpowered would a tuned pipe be a good idea?

Any thoughts appreciated

Gareth

Underpowered for good performance even if you meant a 46AX ... if you can, go with a Saito 82 or OS 55 ...

I would say minimum an Evolution 52 which is in mine. It flies great with that setup, but I crave a little more power. An OS55 would be about the same as the Evo 52 I have two of each they are similar. I would put the new Evolution 60 hot rod engine in it if I could do it all over again, actually I think I just will do that anyway.

Why not try the new Evolution 60NX that is actually smaller 60 size engine??
it should fit without any problems since it was designed to fit on 40 size.

Thanks everyone

The reason I asked is that I have a spare .40 lying around and a repaired example of this plane is bein sold for almost nothing at my LHS.

Will just try and find another pattern plane for my .40
