I just bought a GY240 to replace the PG03 gyro I have but it seems that I don't get what I expected (i.e. rock solid tail lock).
I'm using the stock hummingboard, shall I use separates with the GY240 or was there something I forgot to do?.

I think it'll be fine with the hummingboard, what's happening, you getting drifting? Make sure your tail motor is still strong. That gyro should hold your tail solid.

Initially I had the 3 pins connected (B+,B-, signal) from Gyro to the tail esc, the tail motor could not just compensate (seems like it lacks power) at HH mode.
When I tried to disconnect the supply (B+, B-) and just use the signal wire, at HH mode (AVCS) the tail motor is just too stong that it starts to rotates before the main rotor could. When I set the AVCS to off, it's works fine but his would defeat my goal of having a rock solid tail
By the way, I already played around with the gain and this didn't help either.
I was really wanting to buy the CSM HLG200 but on our side of the world, GY240 is like $80 only .

Do you have the mixing off on the hummingboard when you try HH mode?

How would I do it? It's all integrated, right?

I guess you can't turn it "off" on the hummingboard but just turn the pot all the way down which should pretty much eliminate the mixing.

I think that may be your problem as in head hold mode the mixing will hinder the gyro's job.

Anyway, I already have the GWS100 esc but this sucks coz' this has brakes (for fixed wing model, I suppose). I'll just buy the tail esc (a GWS 50), if I could find it, then perhaps I won't need to open the hummingboard.
If the separates works, then, It'll be "slightly used hummingboard and PG03" for sale.
Thanks for your help.

Hi, you don't have to open the hummingboard, there should be a screw to adjust the mixing.

Thanks for the help. Anyway, I bought an ICS50E and an ICS100. A little rewiring and now I have a "ROCK SOLID" tail.
By the way, after several attemps of looking for a better tail motor, even planning of using High Authority, I managed to sourced out a motor which is similar (in size and performance) to the stock motor BUT this one had carbon brush on it. I was told that this motor was supposedly an upgrade for the FEDA but was not released officially (probably they'd earn more making cheapo motors ).
I just have a problem posting pics. Got the pictures but don't know how to upload.

Glad to hear you got your issue solved. When you want to post a pic, look below when you reply, you'll see where it says Attach File, to the right of that just click browse and then get it from your hard drive and double click it and as you'd normally do just hit submit reply. If the picture is too large, you'll have to shrink it...

Hey Astro. I just uploaded the images on my gallery, I have some mods posted too, which I did on my own.
I'm thinking of getting lipoly since the stock battery is getting worst.

Love your work! Hey, for the stiffener, can you get those parts anywhere? Any suggestions?
