High, AFP can be upgraded to AFPD but not to AF5. AFPD can be upgraded to AF5.

Skybolt, I think this card is fine for photosceneries but not for the 4D sceneries.

The 4D sceneries are amazing! In the settings menu, the time of day, weather condition, and cloud details can be changed to your preference. Night flying is possible! I like to have some cumulus cloud coverage as I find this helpful in estimating the plane position in pattern or IMAC flying. Great feature!

Other settings for simulation, wind, sound and language are shown here. Very convenient layout.

It looks like the English version will be available in Germany early January, but the availability in the USA will depend on how fast Hobbico moves.

Royster, you can upgrade your AFPD to AF5 at a lower cost. You don't have to get the full version, unless you want to keep AFPD for a lower performance computer.

It would be a new install rather than upgrade package dur to newly written software?

So whens it due?

Yes, the upgrade is also a new install, except that you use the same AFPD usb interface cable or game commander

Mike,

As you will soon see, I am close to "0" when it comes to understanding this thing that is attached to the keyboard that I am typing on. Just got it brand new.

Will it run Aerofly 5 without issues?

Some of the following may not apply but this is what I know.

Intel Core2due T6600 processor
MS Windows 7
4GB RAM
320GB hard drive
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD (shared) with up to 1759MB total available graphics memory

Thanks,

Ken

Hi Ken, the integrated Intel graphics is not compatible. Please check the minimum and recommended requirements for the PC and graphics card here http://www.aerofly.com/index.html

The latest patch 5.00.03.01 now allows unlimited-time high-resolution video recordings with sound! You have a choice of playback with or without the current model (using the "hide my model" option). However, the recording files are in .trd and .trt formats which can only be played back in AF5. You could email these files to another AF5 user for playback. Very useful feature for reviewing your aerobatic sequences. You could also make recordings of maneuvers with stick movements for instructional purposes.
