I have a YS 1.20NC turning an APC 17X6@8400 and I wondering if the Bambula 16X6 would give me more thrust? It should turn up more revs and it appears to have more chord... Does any have any experience with this prop on a YS 1.20NC?

TIA for your help.

Galen,

The Bambula's are not known for their rpm, but their ability to pull. I myself am thinking of trying the bambula on my 120FZ. I just retired my CAP and am looking for an airframe for the 120. The 17x6 APC should be a good match too.

Hi Azhar,

Pull is what I am looking for... The APC isn't giving me the thrust that I am looking for. I want more thrust without having to go to a more expensive or heavier engine...

Since they Bambula is not expensive maybe I should just get one and try it...

You should get more thrust with the 17x6. WHat fuel are you using? You should be able to get more RPM. WHat muffler are you using?

Galen,

The 17x6 should have more thrust than the Bambula as Geistware mentioned. What are you putting it on?

I ran the Bambula 16x6 on my 91FZ/Ucando and it was my favorite prop for that plane/engine combo. It might be a bit on thge small side for a 1.20 YS, it seemed really right on the 91.

My muffler is the one that comes with a 1.20FZ. The NC muffler broke the first time I ran the engine and I had to send it to YS for extraction... I don't like this muffler. I need to send it back to YS as the baffle is loose and rattle around inside the muffler. What muffler would be better?

Azhar,

If you mean what model -- it's on a World Models FunWorld 3D 1.20. The model is a little heavy at 10.5 lbs, but it flies great! I am simply looking for a little better vertical performance...

The 15/12 would be wayyy tooo fast for the airframe. Where can you find the bambula props to purchase? I'd like to try a 17/6 on a saito 150. I'm pleased with the 17/6 APC on that engine, but as the rest of us, I'm always looking for more pull.

I used a pitts muffler on mine. I don't remember the exact RPM readings, but I had about 9000rpm with the 17x6.

I use the 16x8 APC and turn about 9400 on 30% Coolpower. Has all the vertical I could ever imagine on a 8.5 pounds airplane. Much better than the 15x10 for high alpha type flight.

Hi Steve,

RC Showcase sells the Bambula props. Here is a link: http://rcshowcase.com/html/accessories/bambulaprops.html

They don't have a 17X6 though... 16X6, 16X8, or 18X8 are the smallest they have...

Are the bambula propellers quiet?
