Regarding servo's for pattern, I'm not sure what you're looking for specifically, but I wouldn't be waiting on anything. The 771's, 773's and 761's all rock, and are available now. The 771's make a great Aileron servo (as do the older 758's) unless you have super big ailerons in which case get the 773's. But most if not all 2M birds will be fine with the 771's

The 761's make great tail surface servos for Elevator or if you're using a single servo go back to the 771's.

Rudder I'm happy with the analog 357's but if you prefer a digital there then the 780's are hard to beat. They're really over kill on the torque and I think a 773 would do just fine if you're running 6V

There's a whole slew of new servo's coming out, but I think you'll see their availability trickle in over the next few months. Most are filling voids that we've had in our servo line-up, so if you're outfitting a pattern plane, I don't think you need to wait. We have solid servo's already for that application.

-Mark
PS, if I can get some specs on the new offerings that I'm allowed to post I will happily do so.

Mark,
I just acquired an Aeroslave Symphony (all carbon canopy), how is your receiver mounted in your BM3 under the all carbon canopy? I''m using my new 2.4 10 channel Airtronics also so any tips would be helpful.

Thanks,
Mike

Even better!

Right ! Subtract the cost of the two 10 ch. receivers and the TX battery, the extra Transmitter costs about $163.

Regarding mounting the Rx in my Black Magics, I have the rx close to the wooden floor, a few inches behind the wing tube with one antenna taped to the floor parallel to the wing, and the other going back into the fuse sort of at a 45 deg angle aimed at the tip of the rudder post sort of. Basically they're at 90deg per the instructions, and not up against any Carbon. Never had any problems.

Anyone having issues with the battery, changed the battery, or using one of those robot arms for balance?

IMO,there is nothing wrong with the stock battery( 6 cell -1500 NiMh) if one follows some very basic battery principles :
1) C/10 slow formation charge for 22 hours.
2) Three complete cycles using 15-16 hr. slow charges and optimally, let it receive a 9 hr. trickle before beginning the next cycle.
You will get 5-6 twelve minute flights . Never fast charge it if you desire long battery life. Some guys insist on replacing it with a li-ion or li-po. Not really necessary unless you want to spend more. When the radio arrives, don't fire it up and program it until you condition the battery. What's the rush when there is snow on the ground ?

Good choice Rick. I kept my JR 10X for 10 years. A radio is an investment they will last a longtime and when you figure the length of use vs cost they are a bargain.
I know a lot of guys taking advantage of these deals. Good luck with it.
Mike

Hey Honey "it's for quality time with our son"!. That's priceless compared to having a kid who would rather hangout with his buddies all the time and get in trouble. These are all good things to say when in trouble. Mark can use that now also. Mike
