I use the "spit" test for my cars/trucks but I find its still acurate. After 3 tanks non-stop, I spit on my head it boils away in 2 seconds so I would be running at about 250 - 275.

ok u know. u guys that say. the tmaxx aint durable. it is but people say its not because they got a mind set thinking well if it one of the hottest trucks its durable.then when one part breaks they r like omg omg omg omg it broke. well i have 3 people in my plane club who have stock ones( tmaxx stock only beacuse they got 4000 dollar planes) they jump over thier pick ups. he broke the a arm but what do u expect. if the 2.5 isnt reliable then why was it proclaimed by rc car aton magazine best engine. i wouldnt by duratrax only beacause i gots no money to play around with. people say i had goop expierence with duratrax and then one said i had a bad one. example say if i buy 5 trucks and 3 were good and 2 were bad that tells me its not qualit. thats what duratrax is

CEN or Ofna. I own neither but do more reading than anyone you've probably ever met.

It doesn’t matter what you buy, what was given to you or what you have. If you abuse it, if you push it beyond its limits, it’s going to break. It’s true that some cars/trucks have repeated faults and weaknesses. Find out about the vehicle that’s holding your attention before spending any money. If the faults are easy enough to correct, purchase the vehicle, fix the problem and have fun.

Very few people are going to give a full honest review on any of it.

Example:

Little Timmy has a T-Maxx. He’s had it for 6 months and is happy as punch until “the day”. On “the day”, he catches the edge of the cement driveway at full speed sending it through the air. Now the upper control arm is broken. This truck that has brought little Timmy much joy and happiness after school, almost everyday for 6 months, in his eyes, is now a piece of junk. And vows never to buy another and will talk smack about Traxxas for the rest of his life.

I have two Duratrash <--(commonly called) Overdrive ST’s. And the only problems that I’ve ever had with them are ones that I created.

By all means, do some research on whatever it is that has you drooling. Google it, review it, ask questions later. You’ll be happier in the end.

oh yeah i have this truck I loved it untill i got my losi, but thats not broken in all the way yet, I love to "technical" drive my ODST on stuff because i find that when i jump it, the truck likes to endo in the air and i usually end up landing on the back. I know what you mean when you say problems that you create, because this is my first nitro truck and I have been very rough on it. I stripped 2 sets of spur gears and am on the 3rd set, broke 2 bulkheads, and an entire set of body mounts, bent the chassis, and bend the shock mount. All in all these problems are actually small considering how much I have been driving it, It is very cold here and I cant wait for it to warm up so I can see what these trucks can really do.

sk8r8919 - No offense but have time following what you said exactly. Partly because of spelling and grammer. I am not the best speller myself but I an trying to understand what you wrote. But over all I think you are saying TMaxx is durable? If so, I would disagree unless it is first generation TMaxx not the 2.5.

I have owned 2 TMaxx 2.5's - If it were not for my wife liking the ease of use, I would not own them at all. They break constantly. Both of them. I sold one and beefed up the other and now that I spent more in hop-ups than the original cost of the truck itself, it is now durable.

For the other question on the electric truck. I would say do a search - but over all it depends on what you want as well. If you want an ST or a 4x4 etc etc etc..... Over all it is just preference. You can buy the most popular brand and so forth and still end up with something that breaks constantly and is a bigger money pit over the cheaper item that everyone else says it crap. My kids have a Traxxas Bandit - not considered race worthy at all. It is faster our of the box than a few of the popular electric buggies and it is very durable. I take it to the skate board park and jump with it using a brushless motor setup and have not broken anything. It is a good basher. Traxxas Rustler is based of same design and most of the parts are the same as the Bandit. So I would say the Rustler would be a good basher and they are cheaply priced. ---

But that is all just my opinion.

As far as stadium trucks go the Overdrive is the only one(from what i've seen) that comes in 4WD AND has reverse (if you like having reverse) For the price you just can't beat that in an RTR vehicle. I was actually going to get the Overdrive but Tower had a good deal on the Evader ST at the time so I went with that instead. I may get an overdrive down the road once I learn the finer points of nitro vehicles a bit better =)

The ODST was my first nitro, and being 4x4 it was a handful, but I am and have learned alot, I also learned that when learning less is more, lol so I am shelving the ODST untill later, and I purchased a xxx nt and well i bent what is called the slipper shaft, I am waiting for a new one and will continue to break in the truck. this truck feels a heck of alot more responsive than the ODST but I still love my odst, I need to tighten the head or check the plug cause it is leaking fuel near the glow plug. so it is parked and will get looked at when it is daytime.

but for a first truck i would recommend something simple. oh btw my losi also took a nasty slip into a snow ramp and launched itself about 4 foot into the air sideways and landed upside down, well it landed on the side and bounced and eventually ended upside down, and nothing was wrong except for the body had a crack and i lost my spoiler which i will just tape back on later. my ODST would have broke a suspension arm at least.

thats cool, does this truck need a spoiler or something cause when i jump it wants to fly end over end. I may have to get some lexan or something and servo tape it on. I have jumped landed, and landed on the lid, scraping 3 of the 4 body mounts down until the hole mount was gone, lol it was pretty cool seeing it slide for a while. Still was running after that too lol

The spoiler would most likely not help. What you need to do it use a combination of throttle and brake. If the truck is turning forwards, touch the throttle alittle bit. If the truck is turning backwards, hit the brakes. You need to make shure to not land with the brakes on or give it too much throttle since there would be no load on the engine.

That is also how you do front and back flips

sweet, i noticed alot of handling differences from the 4x4 overdrive and the 2x losi, love how the losi accellerated, but my overdrive when it hits the 2nd gear is a madman. not to mention traction, traction, traction. Hey I am going to Denver this week, are there any good hobby shops in the Golden, Lakewood area??? Also any tracks/Bash sites?

I will be bringing my Losi, possibly even my Overdrive ST. I know my son is going to bring his Bandit, its hella warmer down there than where I am.
