chasis and drive line ?

for mine, ive got a harder set of springs, mine are actually off of a axial ax10 but any upgraded stiffer springs, 25 wt team losi shock oil, adjust your toe in a little over one degree, and new tires, you could play with the spur and clutchbell gears, but i find the stock set to be great for around the yard. however a metal spur gear would really help alot, and also a set of aluminum "axels" will really help out, i blew two plastic sets in about 40 minuets, so i definatly recomend those.

motor?

i think the two best things i ever did to my motor were the tuned pipe, and switching to 30% nitro, other than that, take your time to set your carb, tune it really well, take your time, make sure the motor is to full operating temp before tuning, (im sure you allready knew that).

uh, lets see, what else,

im working on learning to port my engines, i havent ever done it to a nitro motor, allthough i had a yamaha banshee two stroke quad that i ported and polished, thats a lot less finiky of a motor lol...

steering?

definatly spend the extra 15 bucks and get a good metal gear servo and a servo saver, scince almost every servo that claims allmetal gears the generally have at least one plastic gear, so the servo saver will help to save that one little gear, also you could go ahead and get a high torqu servo, wich will also help with steering

and finally bearings?

now personally i dont care what any one tells you, a full ball bearing or even better a full ceramic bearing rig will allways roll more efficiantly and require less force to move it as compared to an oil lite chasis. so i befinatly recomend all ball bearing, or at least ball bearing the front set,

Wheelies are fun, but you may find that you want to lower it some to keep the front end on the ground at least 50% of the time It will also help with handling.

I think they are really a pretty strong truck right from the factory though, so pretty much, just go have fun with it

Just buy the pullstart unit, and replace the ez-start with it. Shouldnt take long at all to do.

I had good luck out of my Pro .15 on my nitro rustler I got it used, took it apart, and cleaned it up because it was gummed up some. After that, it fired right up and i ran it until i sold it. It ran great, and had a lot more power than i thought it would:

I shoved an O.S. in my Pede, and put on some Revolver wheels. My truck is from 2000, so it has the 2.2's with the chevron tires. It can take some hard knocks. The only bad thing is that they steer like a bus.

I think the steering is kind of bad because most of the weight is in the back, and with the chassis being high, it rolls kind of easy turning at speed, and under acceleration, the front end is even lighter making it ever harder to steer. Im sure you could lower it some and move the reciever battery pack to the front and make the handling much better, but it just depends on how well you want it to handle.

It depends.... If the bearings are still good, and the connecting rod looks ok and the hole that slips over the crank pin isnt oblong and doesent have excessive play, then you might be alright. If it is kind of loose from being wore and it doesent fit real tight, then you will want to replace that too.

Honestly, what I would do on a motor like that, is send the piston and sleeve off to have it repinched. Its only about $20 which is probably $30 sheaper than a new piston and sleeve, and it will probably last until the used bearings in the motor are worn out anyways.

Or if nothing else, join up at traxxas.com and use their classifieds. I see 2.5r engines go for $30-50 in good used shape over there pretty often. I bought one for $30 or 35 shipped from a guy over there and it was in great shape and ran good till i sold it.
