I have run into a few problems and was wondering if anyone could help with any of them:

1) The Sensor is an early 1980's plane which has linkages to operate the flaps from a single servo located in the fuse. I bought two micro servos to put in the wings (instead), but I don't know how best to do this. Should I use double-stick tape to hold the servos down? Should the control rod to the flap go above or below the wing? Is there some standard way of doing this? Is there some standard control rod to use for Sailplane flaps? I assume the forces on the control horn will be reasonably large(for a 1/16" built-up balsa flap)--any suggestions on how that should be attached to the flap? Also, the wing is to be fully sheeted near the fuse--should I cut out an area that lets me get at the servo or should I sheet over it at the very end after I have it hooked up?

2) the plane came with some (1/16" 3-layer plywood spoilers which have warped a little along their length. Does anyone know of a way to get the warp out?

3) Is there something at Wal*art I can use to paint the fiberglass fuse? I have never done that before and the instructions (20 years old) mention paints I have never heard of.

I'm grateful for any help.

Cut off the mounting lugs and wrap the flap servo body in masking tape. Then glue the servo on to the inside of the top wing sheeting with epoxy. If you need to remove the servo in the future, just slit the tape and peel back. to reinstall the servo, put it in position and cover with the old tape. Then tape over the cut in the old tape.

Get the warped spoiler out in the garbage. Replace with unwarped stock of a sheet of carbon fiber.

Wash the Fuselage to remove any release agent before painting. Krylon is less than $3 per spray can, comes in a wide selection of colors and does a nice job. It is also easy to repair when it gets scratched. I use it all the time.
