I want to buy a brushless motor for a sail plane weighing between 50 to 60 oz.

Please suggest a good motor/gearbox combination for operation with 7 cells.

Value for money is main consideration

Motocalc is all well and good, but it doesn't have a lot of the motors that are out on the market, AND if you don't know what the numbers mean, Motocalc data is almost completely useless.

Sarj,

The simplest, and one of the less expensive solutions is a Jeti brushless motor. Check out http://www.hobby-lobby.com for some ideas. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking perhaps a Jeti 15/4...

I have the MotoCalc program and find it quite good. It is true that it does not have data on all motors, batteries etc. But this program is regularly updated and the updates can be downloaded free of charge
