Hi All,
Once more I have a question about tanks. I have the Jagdpanther with metal upgrades. I have already broke in the motor and gears. The big Q is: when I put the metal tracks on, should they be tight( and loosen up from running) or, should I put an extar link in and have them start off loose??? As always, all answers are greatly appreciated.

THey will loosen up after being run in. However you don't want them so tight you are putting unwanted stress on the drive bushings. So if they are really tight, add a link.

All,
Well I finally put on the metal tracks on my Jagdpanther. I had some other issues I had to work out first before I made the change ( didn't want to add more possibilities until I found the real problem). I just have to say, it is a beast now. I will have to change all my tanks to metal. It is truley amazing, I plows through grass tufts that previousley it went over. With the metal gearbox, metal drivers and idelers and now the tracks, it weights a ton, but runs like a well oiled machine ( thanks to the break-in advice I had received here). Thanks to all, I have a great tank destroyer. Now to find some shermans hiding in the bocage.

Happy tanking.
