Flight Risk -> GP Slinger , FMA Razor (11/7/2009 3:47 AM)

Hey I just picked up a new/old 48" FMA Razor, and have been trying to research it. Finally I came across this Great Planes Slinger and it sure seems like the same plane, except for the servo covers. http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=365 Then I noticed a link at the bottom to FMA. Did GP take over FMA products? Also, I have only flown gear drive tractor motors before, with prop savers. How do you guys with direct drive motors attach your props, and not worry about bending/breaking the drive shaft? I would think that prop savers wouldn't work on these high speed motors. Any suggestions on a motor that I could use with my Castle Creation Phoenix 25? I used it with a Himax 2025 which recently bit the dust. I guess some of you are using outrunners, on Zagi's and Strykers. Do they make more sense than an innrunner? I see the motor is supposed to be attached with a zip tie, but shouldn't a motor back there need a heatsink? How would you attach an outrunner in there? Thanks for any ideas. Rod S
