Hi emre, my name is Bill I am a retired electronic engineer, when I get my CopterX Monday I am going to use the servos and gyro from my esky belt cp v2 to complete the heli should take about a week to get it all setup. If you want maybe I can pick you up and we can go to a park and fly together next week. I don’t like grass my first two attempts to fly were off of grass and the training gear balls got stuck to the grass and I crashed twice without even getting of the ground. I like pavement so the balls can slide around while I bounce the heli up and down, I am very new to this. Going out now the wife needs to do some shopping will talk to you latter today.

Bill

It’s no bother to pick you up at your house I am not that far, there is a place near you called Kensico dam/park it is very large I’m sure we can find a place to fly. I will never go to New York City it’s to crazy down there and you can never find a place to park. I will contact you Monday after I get my CopterX can’t wait, I am going to try and use my 2.4g radio that came with my belt cp in the CopterX, hope it work’s or I will need to wait a few week’s until I can afford a 2.4g computer radio or get a Exceed 6ch 2.4g transmitter that you program with your home computer it only costs $44.00 with receiver

Hi emre, sorry I have not written sooner but been very busy, I got my CopterX I love it. I have been working on it, have the digital servos installed, ESC, UBEC and motor, still need to do some wiring and install the receiver and boom then set it up, here is a photo of what I have done so far.

Emre;

Tried to setup the head, servo arms at 90 degrees, half throttle with idle up switch on. I adjusted the servo rods like the manual says but it seems like the swashplates is to high up and there is not enough thread on the push rods to shorten them as much as needed to move the swash down. The guide pin hit’s the top of the swash guide when at full throttle and at full forward elevator. The photos are at half throttle/idle up, servos 90 degrees.

I ordered a Digital Caliper so I can adjust all the pushrods like in the manual, should get it Friday or Saturday. The long pushrods that go the inner swash are at there smallest setting (no thread left?) are yours like this?

If you adjust with digital caliper it will be good i think.Normally you dont hava to copterX manuel you look on the internet right?I you use trex 450 manuel it is same and it has more detail.You can use it for setting and do you have digital radio?if you dont have i think you have to get one if you love this hobby.

I found the problem, the servo pushrods did not come setup, they were about 5mm to long, I have everything very close now. Tomorrow I will remove the top of the head and do the final swash adjustments with my swash leveling tool, after that the head will just need a little fine tuning, then all I need to do is use my pitch gauge to set the pitch. The radio I am using is for a e-sky belt cp v2 it is not programmable, it worked fine on my belt cp that had a CNC HDX Head/tail (Trex clone). Can’t afford a computer heli radio right now, I also build and fly nitro planes and they cost a lot also, I have 5 radios now (4 for planes) Maybe my wife will get me one for Christmas. I will post tomorrow with the pitch readings I get with this radio.

Sorry to hear about your crash doesn’t sound to bad, when I bought my heli I got two of each; booms, main shaft, feathering shaft, flybar, main gear, main blades I have 4 pairs, I know I am going to crash. Leveled everything, installed and balanced blades my pitch readings are: (0 +10) and (-11 0 +12) looks like this radio is going to work just fine.

I reset the pitch to (-1 +4 +9) for normal flight, as soon as we get a day without wind or rain I will give it a try and let you know how it went. This is a photo of the complete heli.

Hey emrecozel,

I'm thinking of getting a Black Angel for Christmas. I've flown the heck out of my CX 450SE. I use 3s1p 2300 mAh A123 batteries in it. I'm at the point where I want to start getting inverted and the A123 batteries are just too heavy for that so I want a second 450 sized heli that I will run on LiPo's to start getting in to advanced stuff.

Can you tell me how the two compare flying wise? Do you like one over the other? I've heard from other people the BA flies much better and is also quieter.

Hi,
Yes it is much better than other and its fly quiteer but actually it depends on your electronic equipmant.I suggest you if it will second helicopter you can buy align 500 or 600esp.I m thinking about buy it because 450 size models are not enough stabil.

Thanks for the info, like I said I've heard the Black Angel is a very nice helicopter...I really do want a larger heli but can't afford one. I am saving for a 600 sized and will get one in about a year and a half. My CX 450 is pretty tame, I also have a TRex 250 that is really awesome to fly, it seems to be just as stable as the 450, but the the 250 has a much nicer Gyro too.
