I'm building a 30 x 15 inch airboat for the kids. I'm using a styro core, and coating it with glass cloth and/or mat. The only weight available to me is pretty heavy stuff, 4 oz cloth and mat. How many layers will it need? Oh, I'm using epoxy.

In general, are more layers of a lighter cloth stronger than 1 layer of heavier? Eg 4 layers of 1 oz -vs- 1 layer of 4 oz
