Status: offline 		Man i was at the LHS when this guy comes in and tells the owner a friend of mine. If some kids come in looking for parts for a bursted up P-51 that has my name painted on the fuel tank inside of it it is mine. I thought for a second what is going on and then he finally explained. He was flying when this kid walked up and ask him if he could fly his plane and he said no. Well the kid left and went to the parking lot. All a sudden he lost control of his plane and bell landed it quite a way out. He then sees this truck barrel across the field two guys jump out the back and grabed the two halfs of the fuesuloge and the wing. Tor across the field and across a ditch and left. The guy is just in shock that he crashed his plane then the guy that had asked to fly it had his buddys grab it as he drove across the field. Long story short the kid brought it in to be fixed and asked Bill the shop owner if it was a good trainer plane. Bill took it to the back saying he would fix it and called the police.

I have always been amazed by how many great people there are in this hobby versus the few butt-holes. I'm sorry to hear about the incident, but at least they got caught. It's just too bad that the LHS owner didn't collect a deposit to cover repairs before calling the police.

Status: offline 		It's been pretty rare for me, but I've had it happen twice, and it's funny. I might be making too much of it since it mihg tbe one of those thing that you have to be there, but I'll try and explain.
I was doin some instructing and another guy on the flight line was doing some wicked low inverted passes with is avistar. Well my student kept taking his eyes off his plane and glancing at the passing model. I made the comment about never take your eyes off your plane. It's unsafe ya know. This goes on a few more times, and I just can't stand it anymore. The next time he started watching the other guys plane I quickly inverted and started it diving for the ground, and gave him back control. The engine coming up got his attention and I let him have that dumb thumb feel for a second or two before recovering. Of course he said oh **** once I leveled it back out I don't think he even blinks anymore while he's flying ever.....

If it's me crashing usually I just make a few various grunting noises before the crash followed by Ooops!

Never fly a green plane below the treeline.

How true. This goes for a blue also. it was so bad, that I put some white strips along the leading edge. It really stands out now.

Actually my crashing days are pretty much through, Phase one any way. (Now I have a spad !!!!)

I started on a sturdy birdi II. I pile drived it, nose dived it, yard darted, cart-wheeled, parked in the trees, the bushes, the corn field, the hay field, hit the barbed wire couple times, etc.etc.

That is one tough plane! Very tough to fly too, wing is way too small.

Now phase 2 of the crash lessons, the wonderful world of spad. Starting to learn hover and other stunts with a qhor.

At least it isn't the nose of the plane always hitting now.

Most common sound after I crash, is laughter. We all think it's hillarious.

Status: offline 		Sorry, I got rid of the video quickly after watching it... Not because of the crash, but because of my 2 octave voice pitch change during the crash!! (Didn't know I sounded like a school girl in times of stress!) Maybe I should have kept it, and put some audio over top of it... Like (OH I don't like the way this one fly's I'm going to re-kit it! Watch this!)

Oh well.. Too late now..
