Status: online 		I don't know what speed we are doing with our CF at take off, but at 5400ft on a 80deg day we use all the 600ft of runway to get it the air with a JC120sx. I have seen many wheels come off jets that were not glued on.

George, I have many flights on my CF with a JC 120SX. I live at an altitude close to 3000 ft. Lately I have been flying mine when the temp's have been in the middle to high 90's. The density altitude is pretty high at those temp's.

I never use more then 250 -300 ft without TO flaps.

Our runway here at Timpa is 750 ft. I start my take off roll near mid field and am off way before the end of the runway.

I have never lost a wheel or tire. I have never glued them on. I bought them from Dreamworks almost two years ago.

I can't explain why, Maybe I am one of the lucky one's.

Status: offline 		the Flash sits with a slight negative AOA and full thrust pushes the nose down during the takeoff roll, this makes it hard to rotate if you're waiting till flying speed to put in back elevator.

Anyone recognise the make of these wheels. I lost the tyre, yep neither my caller nor i saw it come off. The rims don't come apart so im not sure where i can source a replacement tyre.

Any assistance appreciated.

Status: online 		I am in the process of deciding how to mount my 16 oz (two) Dubro smoke tanks in my Flash.

I plan on putting one on each side of the fuse.

I do not want to rest the tank on the main tank in order to allow the main tank to expand when the tank is full.

When I put the tank as close to the fuse side as I can the bottom of the smoke tank can only rest on one inch before it overlaps the main tank.

Not enough to secure the smoke tank.

Placing a 1/8 plywood platform below the smoke tank will raise one part of the smoke tank slightly above where the wing rests on the fuse mount as I plan on using Velcro to secure it.

I have seen pictures where someone has mounted this type of tank before with success.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Saw your request on the UF thread, don't think we really get what you are asking. I think the pictures you remember were on the UF thread (when it was back about building!)
The tanks are not going to go far with just Velcro, as long as you stop the forward and backward movement, sitting between the wing and fuse it will be fine.
The fuselage tank only blows during filling, once full the bottom does not go much below the wood cross mount

I saw the pictures somewhere back on one of these two threads.

I agree forward and aft would work fine. My concern is the tank moving to the center of the fuse where it would block the inlet air.

I guess it won't hurt to attach it partially to the bottom of the main tank then with velcro also.

I will give it a shot.

Should be fine, you can always glue some 3/8"high "stops" inside each tank. But don't think you are going to need them
Blocking the inlets will only slow her down, turbines breath from any gap available!

Status: offline 		the pic's were of Douggy's old classic flash and my classic flash, they are just Velcro'd in, it works great. the wing holds them in place in flight and the Velcro when the wing is off.

My good friend and flying buddy has the classic flash unpainted and wanted the red, yellow and black colour scheme of the ultra. I took some pictures of how i did the masking as it may be of some interest to others. Another benifit to doing this is you get rid of that 'orrible' seam !
