8 pounds??

You are right about where the tank goes and all. While I am not expecting the 186 they advertise with the YS, the MVVS is a righteous fuel burner. I do appreciate your input regarding the model though, and am looking forward to getting it airborne. What F-16 scheme did you finish yours in?

186? MPH? Never---

There was a gent at my local field flying his last weekend and it flew pretty well with the piped YS-45 (probably 10x8(P) APC?) but would not come close to my Patriot/Jett-50 speed wise and the vertical was not impressive at all--- and I cannot imagine the MVVS being as powerful as a YS-45 on a full tuned-pipe --

I know these posts sound a little negative but I did a ton of research on this awhile back.... (My F-16N met its' fate was too soon to get good info.)

Even a guy with a Jett-50 (Pumped I think-) was not that happy with the flying of it...

I have a YS-45 (side exhaust though..) and Header I think if you wanna try it--- Teh engine is just sitting at the moment

Some info on the F-16 application. The plane is heavy, and not all that fast. As for 186..... maybe it can be fast......going down hill. It bleads energy in the turns very easily. Keep the speed up. It does land nicely though... nose high...about 1/4 throttle.

FWIW.... the stock fuel system is a nightmare. I have some info from a Jett customer that may be useful:

The fuel system change was first I threw the original tanks and design in
the garbage. It doesn't work even with a Perry pump. To complicated, to
far to suck the fuel with two tanks!!!

The new design is a fuel tank (12oz flask) mounted in the intake vertically
centered, Just above the original fuel tank location. So the air can still
flow around it. The tank is accessible and removable (I am big on access)
from the main landing gear wheel well. And a Hopper tank (2oz) mounted even
with the fuel inlet of the engine. It is basically glued to the top of the
inside just forward of the engine mount with masking tape wrapped around the
tank then supported to the top of the inside with carbon fiber and epoxy.

The engine ran great with this fuel system. Just a suggestion.

Bob

Razor, I think we are talking two diffrent birds here. I read a post somewhere from a guy who works for yellow aircraft who saw the 186. I took a pick of the instructions to prove what they say. My plane has the engine in front not a pusher. Again I am not looking for the 186 but 130 will get me by.

Opps....... I thought ya had the CBM pusher F-16N too ! My goof.......

Still...... 186 ??? I won't say its impossible....... would have to be on a serious down line to level flight....

yet...

keeping in mind, a VERY compeitive QM-40 plane flys in the low to mid 180s....... I'd have to see the F-16 do that

Never the less....... it looks like a nice plane........ Im sure the 130 range is doable! The box says 140+ if I am reading correctly.

Hey Vic..... does that bird have landing gear? Retracts? If I recall correctly, that is the slope-soaring version.

OK I have had one of those also! It is the smaller Jet that came from a slope-soarer design! Mine was purty fast as I recall but that was 10 years ago at least---

Keep us posted!

I took a photo of the instructions where THEY say 186 . It can be built as either the slope soarer or power. I'm goin power ! Razor are you with me on the MVVS now? You were starting to hurt my feelings there for a minute .

Hey Flyboy,

Why don'tja put a Jett 50 in your Lazy Bee, then you could go 180+ too.

I think Dave is going to put a turbine on the dragonlady hoping the exhaust heat will keep the covering shrunk up and wrinkle free.
