Tsunami and later a Patriot and finally my fist F-20 that was done in Blueangels color scheme. Don't get me wrong they were all faster than the FX but at 2.5 times the price? I think the FX with the pipe might due 15.5k with a 10x6. There isn't anything faster than a jett 50 right or is there? I was thinking about the Magnum combo at $300.00 and using that engine in my F-20. I think thats a better deal don't you think? I know and I have seen that engine perform, revs to back it up too. If you lok at the F-20 I am holding up, you will see the jett engine.

Sweet F-20!

I want a Magnum also, but I am sure it will be too loud for my field- The West-50 (Modified Webra) is supposed to scream!

I bought my Jett-50 used for $175- but the Magnum combo is a great deal...

Again nice pic-

I'm putting B&D pneumatic retracts in my F-20...I was wondering how long you guys are making the struts? I suppose it depends on how far out in the wing you can go? Also, the front strut should be longer or shorter than the mains? In other words, the plane should sit with its nose a bit higher or lower than horizontal when on the ground?
TIA-

Dave,

Yeah, I added the gear so I wouldn't have to hand toss it, or skid it across the dry lake on it's belly when landing. It takes off great from the ground at a touch above 1/2 throttle. I'm using Kangke F3D wheels.

Dave,

I never flew this without wheels, so really can't comment on any diffences in speed. I do know, this thing is so small it takes every bit of your concentration. I don't think anybody could notice (with the naked eye) a difference from going 175 MPH or 185 MPH.

If I was to enter a speed contest, I'd definitely lose the wheels, but right now it's plenty fast for these eyes. This is the "older" version that had some issues with the graphics flying off. I'm almost tempted to re-cover it in with some brighter colors but will probably hold off to see what the new ones look like. Then maybe buy just the (new) plane for the motor I have now, and then re-cover the old one. Decisions, decisions....

At $300, this combo was/is a bargain. The motor runs flawlessly with instant transition. It fills my "need for speed"!

I wish my Jett 90 powered F-20 was this fast.....

Gary

BTW, I heard the new Magnums were going to be offered at about $250. Has anybody else heard this?

Here are a couple of picts of my F-20 that I bought used from JohnVH. (Original plane can be found earlier in this thread)

Didn't really do anything except cosmetic stuff.

Some new covering, new wheels, and homemade missles. I have a little left to do.

Still has YS-45 with pipe.

I haven't got to fly it yet but hope to soon. Our club field is grass so I have to wait til it is dry and short.
