Just let it set for a while. I bought a LST2 in 2006... ran it all summer and sold it in the fall. Should have never sold it. Bought it all over again this year. Its that smell of Nitro and the noise brings us back to our senses.

Are you discouraged? That happens to many of us from time to time.

I must agree with the others... If you are going to leave it alone for a while, just put it up somewhere and forget it. Selling may not motivate you to stay away.

Whatever you decide, good luck :-)

Well considering the economy and $30 a gallon for fuel I would rather sell my gear and have a better Christmas for my son (4yo) and we will be keeping his so I could live vicariously through him... he loves his "Herbie truck" but he also loves trains and we want to mach up a Polar express in HO scale (only available in Lionel at three times the cost of HO and twice the size) with a lot of extra track and also get the digital command system that will allow running multiple trains on the same track at the same time for future expansion, and the initial cost is around $500-600 bucks but this will be a hopefully life long thing. I'm thinking around $250-300for my gear.

I have already been down the train road.....I collected the John Deere Dealer train sets..had about 10 or 12 sets..HO and O scale. Sold them off except for my HO Big Boy and a O scale I put around the Christmas tree. There is a lot of more excitement with the Losi. Good luck with what ever you do and have fun.

We have all been down this road at least those of us who are older any ways.
Selling it will be the option but you will get the bug again when you boy gets older.
I think about selling my LST every year a couple of times even the last time I had it out when it broke and blew a tire off the rim.well make that 2 tires
thats all part of the game and the fuel being so expensive thats just the way it is.
Don't like it either but its not like it's taking you to work or anything
just think about how much a new LST is and you might get 250-300 for the stuff you have now depending on what it is.
It's cheaper to let it sit and worry about it later then to sell it for nothing and have to replace all the junk again later.
I have done this
switching between Nitro and Electric
now I have large scales too GAS is so much fun
I have no job and can't seem to get one but I still won't sell any of my RC stuff

dude...$30 a gallon for fuel...it's not like it's ever been any cheaper for a gallon of good 30%.

Keep your stuff...you will regret selling the $1000+ worth of stuff you have for pennies on the dollar.

Don't sell your stuff because you feel disinterested at the moment, you will end up regretting it. This hobby is a sickness, you can never truly let it go, and you will be back eventually. It's much easier to dust your existing gear off and go running than it is to start over.

Don't sell it. I've lost interest in this hobby before, put all my stuff up in the closet, and almost a year later, the bug bit again. Thankfully, I didn't sell my gear, so I was able to jump right back in again.
This really should be classified as an addiction instead of a hobby. Once you start, you just can't stop. The smell of nitro and the noise of the engines keeps drawing people back.
I will sell one car here or there(a whole 2 in my life) so that I can get a newer one, but in general, I won't sell off my stuff if I lose interest.

actually I can't stand the smell of nitro so I always bought the cherry scent to go in my fuel...but I do like the sound and it is addictive but still I must go

And it's a lot of money. But though I do have guilt pangs about spending(wasting..) so much money in the hobby, as long as I still get as much of a kick out of it as I do, I'll keep doing it..

I sold mine And Im in the regretting stage. Yes I Sold mine because of having a new son and the cost of nitro... And YES! because of the economy to. All the engines, Tires, Bodies, Parts. As much time and effort as I put into that thing
Should of just put it up for a while.

Unless you HAVE to sell it then do what you need to. But If your not sure. just hang on to it and put it up for a little while. I agree with 98% what everyone else is saying. Your better off putting it up for awhile. My younger brother wanted to get into trains. That was until he saw me driving my evader ST

Nothing wrong with trains but I have WAY more memories at the park, construction sites, mini malls at 3am, snowbanks (leaving my tracks in other peoples yards ).... Being outside trying to get the engine to start is better then standing and watching IMO.

A cow taking a crap is faster then a stock evader ext. So if he/she is new to RC they will be fine.

As for taking it to the track (I.E. someone who is more advanced in RC) The rear drive shafts are a main issue and the slipper isnt my favorite. Other then that, parts are cheap, Its a ST so upgrades are plenty.
