That looks real good. I have seen it before and it looks good with the 5T body.

Where have you seen this truck?
I wonder how it handles vs the HPI 5T

Im sure it handles better, its definitely lighter. Is it still 4WD though?

It is 4wd and lighter does not mean it will handle better..
the suspension is 8th scale on a 5th scale chassis, so I'm not so sure how it will handle?

I know but the difference between the nitro and electric is just the motors. I figured they would be the same as far as the suspension/chassis/ drivetrain, etc.

well judging by this video...
http://www.hpiracing.co.jp/contents/kits/savage5t/movie2.html

The conversion is a bad idea unless you modify the suspension.. that suspension looked like it had no travel... Infact the xl engine looked weak and the car looks flimsy on hard suspension. Pretty pathetic IMO.
what a terrible idea for a nitro truck to be converted to 1/5.... The whole reason I'm going 1/5th is to get away from paying 30+ bucks per gallon of Nitro.
heres an even better video from some guy in europe
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUd0m6_lGlo&feature=related

this video of the 5t flux looks far faster

That suspension looks terrible, I've never seen a car dive and roll so badly in the corners.  And that 5.9 nitro version looks pathetic; if that's all the speed it can achieve even with a 3rd gear, then what is the point?  If it was geared for acceleration instead of top end speed I could understand it, but it didn't even look like it was struggling with the power, let alone being close to popping a wheely.  You'd be best doing the Flux conversion like in the 2nd video; that looks much better.  Or better still, save the money you'd spend on this conversion and go for a PROPER 1/5 scale.

This thread is about the flux (brushless) not the nitro..
The suspension is a little different on the Flux over the XL, not sure how different the Flux 5T would handle?
I've thought about doing a brushless conversion on my 5B, then saw this and like the 4x4 route.
And keep my 5B gas, cuz its so cheap to run
