Status: offline 		I have a new P-80SE and I am wondering that is it normal that on the low RPM area it puts out little flames when accelerating. This happens also on bench so it should not be because of all the stuff in front of it making the air flow bad. The flames come when the acceleration is set on normal/fast in the ecu for the low end. I haven't tried the slower settings. I took a small video of it and posted it on the Youtube. This was made in the dark so the flames are really visible but you can see them on a day light also. EGT looks normal.

When RPM is higher no flames then.

Status: offline 		The P80 has always had flame from about the 5 o/c position its a product of the turbine flame front from the injectors, don't worry about it, its normal.

Status: offline 		At the current price it is a best buy, its only down side is the weight and size of the unit, only 8onz lighter than a P120 and the same size, but is untra reliable and starts and performes excellently, JetCat service is second to none.

Also, the turbine is putting out much more flames during the start (blue-yellow). Should I reduce the pump voltage ?

If this is a Kero start you need to reduce the pump start up voltage, take the kero start pipe off the turbine and use the pump purge start programme to check the amount of fuel being delivered to the turbine during the start phase, this should only be a drip, drip, drip, as the valve pulses, if its a constant flow that will cause excess flame.

On the pump voltage adjustment menu there are two options as Uaccel1 and Uaccel2. I changed the setting under Uaccel1 from 0.2V to 0.175V and didn't touched anything on Uaccel2 cause I don't know what it does to the turbine. I have the Kero start installed.

After the pump voltage adjustment I haven't run the turbine yet to see the effects. Does anyone have any words to say ?

Maybe not of your interest, but I just purchased my NEW P80 SE!! In the manual JetCAt are stated that after a few engine runs, the fuel pump is "burned in" and you need to adjust the voltage, otherwise you may get to much fuel during the start up process.
