Hi Larry,
Yes we'll have to get together. I still have to pick up a speed control and battery packs, install the readio and ballast it. Hopefully soon. I have been overhauling my Byron Corsair for spring flying.
Later,
Fred

Has anyone here built this in the Yatch model and if so have you used a Jet Drive or Z Drive on it?

I will be building it but would like to power by Jet or Z 'just because'.

Hi Larry,
I have two 7.2 1500 ma packs running in series. Can feel the air blowing at full throttle on the bench. I think it will go well, I'm using the bronze prop you sent me. Will you be in Warwick RI soon?
Later,
Fred

Hi Larry,
I ran my lobster boat the other day and it ran awesome! Not extremely fast but very scale looking. Balance seems to be right on.
Later,
Fred

Fred,

Which EVX ESC are you using? I have a couple of different ones that are 14.4V but I can't read the writing in the picture.

I use Duratrax esc's with reverse. 2 7cell baterys in paralel 8.4 volt 3000mah nimh onyx, gives a good run time.8.4 3000mah X 2=6000 mah at 8.4 volts. Any esc with reverse should work Larry

Check6-  Just joined the forum and went through your build thread-beautiful job!  I just recently purchased the same kit and so far so good!  What type of epozy did you use to seal the boat with in the third or fourth set of pictures?  I am getting close to that point and want to do the same..?

Thanks!

Jim

Hi Jim,
Sorry it took so long for the reply, my computer was down. I used Envirotex Lite Epoxy thinned 100 %. Purchased at Michaels Art Supply Store. Hope this helps and good luck with your build.
Thanks,

Check6,

Greetings, I have been reading this forum and have found this to be the best of any when it comes to assisting others thinking about building a R/C boat. I am new to this hobby, as I built a 60" cargo ship many years ago and gave it away after 80% completion because we were moving. I am going to purchase the "Midwest Lobster Boat" and restart my boat building fun.

I would like to ask for your guidance as to what tools, equipment that I should purchase in order to do the proper job, i.e., Work Top Mat, Ship builders X=acto Tool Kit, stick pins(type), etc. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.........

Don
