Mr. Matt and or others,

Does anyone know where I can find an rpm/thrust chart for a P-80?

Also, BONUS I think.............. I have P-80 #1239 and thought that since it was before the # Mr. Matt had named that I couldn't go to 120k. Well I was just thumbing through the ECU and tried to raise the max RPM - and it let me! up to 120k. Does that mean mine is a 19 pounder?

One more question - my roo is being built so it seems like now would be a good time for the ECU upgrade. I have 4.0 but have heard there is a newer version? What are the benefits and how do I go about getting the upgrade?

THanks,

Smitty

I am not sure we ever did one for a P-80. I will look into it.

Is there a specific thrust you are looking for?

As for the 120K RPM, if that is what yours is set too, then you are getting over 19 pounds.

Regards,

Mr. Matt,

No specific thrust needed just yet. Just wanted the info for when the roo is done. Ballpark would be fine with me.

How about the ECU upgrade? Is it 4.9? And what would it do for me?

The engine didn't come "set" for 120k but is able to be raised to 120. I am assuming that is what you mean right!

Thanks for all your help. I am truly happy to be a part of the JetCat world!

Art from Art's Hobbies has the conversion chart he is looking for it now. We will find it in a day or 2 one way or the other. I know the P-120 used to be on the old website, we really need to update it.

Your 4.0 ECU is fine, no need to worry about any upgrade.

Yes if your motor was shipped with that ECU you can raise it to 120K.

Glad you like the motor. When I get that thrust chart I will post it.

Is the P80 able to hold a RPM of 120K for a long time, I was told that its mechanical limits is 120k before it would blow the bearings. Kelly

All of the new P-80's are set for 120K Max RPM.

THe reason for this is a the newer P-80s have a beefier part in their combustion chambers that take the higher temperatures (that result from higher RPM operation) better.

There is no danger of this RPM level hurting the bearings of any P-80.

Hope that helps, I know it is a bit confusing.

I 'm thrilled to have fired up my "new" P80 today runs great..question though!
I tried to "up" my max RPM on the ECU and it would only go to 118,000. My # is 1190..so that's as high as it will go? thanks Kevin

Glad you like the motor. If the Max RPM will not go up (hold down "Change Value" and try the arrows) then that is the maximum RPM

Good luck
