Status: offline 		Theres not much to do to put this together but I will post here as I progress, it might be slow going though.

As shown model requires addition of firewall if you choose to firewall mount your motor, elevator servo plates, mounting details for the chin cowl and installation of canopy clip are requred, as is a battery tray. I think thats about it. So less these items fuse weight as shown in pictures is 1764 grams.

A good hardware kit is included with light wheels and axles, surface horns, harch latch; wheels at 18g each are included in weight above.

Finish shines up nice with some automotive cleaner wax.

Pictures are as received. I just taped pieces in place.

My plan is firewall mounted Plettenberg and Jeti ESC.

Status: offline 		As of now, there will be 2 different versions coming into the US. A red scheme as pictured and an all white version. Pricing is $2075 for the all white and $2225 for the red. These are on order with JM now and I am waiting for an update from them now on delivery date. Anywhere from the first of the year to late Jan is the last estimate. Please understand that JM Composite's production rate for this plane is one (1) plane per week, and he can already sell everything he produces so it was a generous gesture for them to allow us to order a chunk of his production to be sent to the US. Depending on demand there will be a second order going in probably looking at early Summer delivery time.

Status: offline 		I can't stand it anymore. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share this so I'll pretend like I don't know where this comes from, but with a RTF weight of 7 lbs 14.5 ozs and killer looks, I think someone should be shouting from the rooftops.

Status: offline 		2 Sunny you know you need one of these once you fly it. Wow I got a chance to fly it @ Green Sea's contest. Best plane I've flown, Chris let a couple of guys fly it. Very easy to fly great round's, vertical up and down straight. I hoping to fly it again this weekend at Wilson Salem contest, just Chris doen't know it yet.

Status: offline 		Well Chris made me feel bad, Ive been painstakingly assembly mine since November. Chris finishes his in 10 days.... ...maybe less.

So I had to get mine done and fly it, it is a very nice handling plane. I think its about as good off the "assembly" table as I have had so far. Handles very well with some minor mixing getting it flying in good shape.

Has slight roll couple opposite applied rudder and a little push to the belly in knife. Some pull to canopy in downlines, pulls left some in uplines. Rolls very nice. Some CG change and incidence change this will get better.

Also 7lb 14oz w/o flight batteries. Equipment is Jetti 99, Pletty, JR8611 Rudder, 8411SA Aileron, 3421sa Elevator, LiFe hobbyzone 850mah flight battery.

Looks really nice. I'd like to see how many planes JM could sell if they had the ability to produce at a higher volume. The price on this plane is very fair.

Looks outstanding!


Is that the factory paint job, and assuming you have a Plettenberg 30-10 in there do you restrict the throttle curve at all or just use your fingers to limit thrust?


How would you compare the Gaudius to other planes you have flown?

It is the factory paintjob. Did do the T-Can myself and a new rudder thats less deep to compensate for the extra lenth by the vector thrust.
Some notes about the vectorthrust. Have spend some time now to get aquianted to it. Had it mixed with an adaptable curve to the throttle and had it mixed to the rudder.
My conclusion is that a correct fixed side thrust is all you need. Some kind of power - sidethrust mix is not needed for this model (and perhaps all models)
The Gaudius so extremely rudder sensitive that rolling level is very easy.
With only a small percentage (10%) of vector mixed to rudder it moves like a snake through grass. So not only the tail that swings but now the head swings too. It did not make me fly better. So the Gaudius does not need a rudder -vector mix too.
I do not regret it that much that the rules are explained in a way that it is not allowed. The device did not help me that much and I will remove it.

Have flown two years competition with a Synergy. It is like an old dog. It perhaps can not do the difficult tricks but it keeps walking besides me even when it is not ordered to do that.
The Gaudius does the figure m with ease. It does everything with ease, but you have to stay on top of and keep steering or it will do its own thing. This is perhaps in general the difference between the newer designs and the older designs.
Until now i'm happy with it. I know and feel it has great potential, but we still have to become a team.

Status: offline 		I was able to fly Chris' at Green Sea. Very nice flying plane. Very easy to keep at a constant speed. It is a BIG airplane as well.

Status: offline 		I have flown a Gaudius throughout most of this year. Quality is excellent. It is indeed a very constant flying airplane with good rolling, stall and spin entry capabilities. I am currently flying Advance with the Gaudius and have done well with it. Vertical lines are straight up and down with a small amount (3%) down for down lines. The plane flys with very little mix. On calm days the airplane is tough to beat. Windy conditions don't cause any issues. You need very little rudder input for point manuevers or slow rolls.
The plane builds very easy and comes out very light. Strong landing gear mount if you fly from grass. Landing gear is one piece and can be mounted in about five minutes. I lost my 1st Gaudius due to unknown causes and have since built another. This one is all white with a custom paint job. (THANKS JR FOR ALL THE HELP) I used the radio set-up from the 1st Gaudius for a start on the new one. The new Gaudius needed only 2 clicks of up elevator which actually brought the elevator to a perfect trim. If your CG is correct the airplane will trim completely neutral. I believe it presents well and can easily fly all classes. The 1st Gaudius was powered with a Plenty. The new one is powered by the Hacker Q-80. Both fly almost the same. I will say the front of the Gaudius is perfect for the Q-80. Very strong! You do not need to add the firewall if you use the Hacker. In either case you will be very satisfied with the power and by the way no cooling issues. I'll try to answer any other questions you have if you PM them to me.
