Well I got my Brushless mini lst in, within about 10 minutes I shredded the center diff.  Has anyone used this and is it worth the money?

Personally I would use the MIP balldiff instead of the Losi one.

Have you bothered reading any of the other MLST threads? They will help you get a better understanding of what you're dealing with.

I have looked for some back dated threads.  Didnt find too much info.  So i'm assuming this is a common problem with them?

I have that losi one. Works ok. Make sure your slipper clutch is not too tight also, otherwise that little plastic bevel gear in between the center diff and the shaft gear is going to strip too.

MLST/MLST2/MMB... all have similar design with lots of drive tran problem. Once go BL, strips lots of gears on both front & rear, then center. Make sure you are not putting in too much power. Perhaps 1 in 50 owners you will find doesn't have any problem.

Well.... I went to my LHS and just got a set of factory replacement parts.  The literally lasted about 10 seconds.  I jb welded it after I stripped the spider gears out.  Maybe since it's locked now it will hold for a little bit anyways.  It's gonna be up for trade soon anyways.

Yup, Welcome to the MLST owner club ! Where we spend endless hours and money trying to make the d-mn thing run without something broken inside.

Since the truck was never designed, nor intended, to be able to handle brushless power if you motor back, and treat them nicely, and use them as they are intended. They tend not to have nearly as many problems relative to keeping them up and running.

If you want race-worthy-speed truck, buy a race-worthy-rig.

I got one in a trade. I was pleasantly suprised when I did a tear down to clean/inspect that it had the steel diffs front and rear, and a ball diff in the center. Now for a decent slipper for it.

MLST has a plastic diff. MLST2, Limited (MMB), these have the metal diff rings & metal pinion gear. But the 4 spider gears inside the diff are plastic thou. That's the only setback.
