Ofna's no road LD3 is pretty much the new kid on the block, copying the design of TC3; their features sure looked a lil bit more impressive than TC3, but the LD3 is manufactured by Hong Nor, Chinese/Taiwanese stuff. If I'm to decide, I would still go for the TC3 as it has proven itself a winner in quite some competitions; couldn't go any wrong judging from that. And furthermore, there're tons of after-market support hop ups for it. As in whether the LD3 is a better car, I'm in no position to judge, haven't driven one.

Yeah the LD3 is based off the NTC3 but what i'm finding out though some of the parts are compatible with each other and the LD3 is comin out with a lot of hop up parts!!

a couple threads ago you were thinking of a 705 serpent i have that car and an impulse pro both hopped up you do spend a lot of money on parts but thats if your running into curbs a high speeds.(happens to me LOL)but yeah it depends on you how much money your willing to spend. if you want info about any serpents go to www.mytsn.com it has forums for all serpents.

(ofna ld3 pro w/picco .12, associated kit w/ O.S. .12 TR (P)-T Turbo Head) another thing is this O.S. even legal for races? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCNA3&P=0 that is link to the O.S. Engine. this is link to the Ofna Ld3 pro with picco .12 3 port- http://www.ofna.com/ld3-pro.html

I wanted to ask, why do you want that O.S. engine? Do a search on "Rossi Pixi R12" and you see what I mean

As for top speed it depends on many factors, such as transmission ratio, body, tires etc...

If you think that LD3 is based ON NTC3 than I have to ask you: Is there any other way to build shaft driven car? Sure they look similar, but just look at diff cases, shock towers, rear bps, gas tank, radioplate etc... As far as i'm coserned it's not very similar to ntc3... just me .02.

to me it is very similar. just look how a rear exhaust engine sits in the ld3 and how the 2 speed gears are in the car and tell me then it is not similar and you wanted another shaft driven car look at the HPI nitro 3 thats a whole lot different! but anyways thats my opinion!

Well, if you think of it this way, then imho Mugen and serpent are wery similar (orher than the fackt that one has laydown servo) and same applies for TTR TSN-4 and HPI RS4 2...

sure ntc3 and ld3 look similar, but I wouldnt say that OFNA like stole the idea or something...

for me i'd choose the NTC3 because there are more parts out there if anything breaks and it is a sick car but the LD3 i don't really know anything about it

I'd probobly go with LD3... Just because I like to be different... Sure NTC3 has alot more hopups. You might look at schumacher Fusion R12

fusion is illegal though... but which is better-ntc3 or ld3. out of box, im not talking about hop-up availability. just if you took them out of the box, which would perform better? handelling, speed, acceleration, etc.

no, fusion R12 is totally race legal

Since I havent actually had a chance to drive LD3 than I cant say anything about handling... but it's all down to setup. Imho both cars have winning potensial.. To me NTC3 just seems weaker.

Ok I have driven both cars and I have an Ld3. I have the rtr 2 speed. I think that the LD3 handling is way tighter but the engine is mediocre at best. The 2 cars are very similar in design but I repeat a previous post how many different ways can you make a shaft driven car. And if the Ntc3 is a good design and it works well why wouldnt another compnay want to follow suit. And please dont start with the hpi and its different this way and that. We are talking about something being competitive and since the Ld3 is the "new kid" lets not bash it yet and understand that its already won a couple of races. Futhermore please get the facts straight Hong Nor isnt the manufacterier for Ofna. Beyond that Idont know which is a better choice for you but I think that you need to keep in mind parts availability, I know for me I cant get to many parts without ordering them.
