The question is-which would you get? If you got the NTC3 kit and

got a .12 race engine (you put the engine in that you would

recomend for a decent price a good one and post it). or you

got the Serpent 705 with the engine it recomends and some

radio gear that totals around $750. if you go the NTC3 and put

some serious stuff into it to just totally deck out the NTC3 for a

total of $750, would this NTC3 smoke the Serpent? i am trying to

stay around the $700 range. I am sorry if i confused you, i just

cant think of how to put this into words. Maybe if the NTC3 had

the hop-ups to equal the price of the serpent, which would win?

the engines i am looking at are the team orion .12's (wasp) and the o.s. .12 tr (p)-t turbo head. this is a link to a towerhobbies page that has all of these engines on it http://www.towerhobbies.com/listings/cat-cat-g.html
look at the first 2 engines and go down to the o.s. .12 tr's
thanks

i would take the 705 anyday because i have one and a impulse.i chose it because my cousin has a ntc3 with a .12 sirio engine into it and a lot of hopups and still smokin him on the track.and we're both equally matcthed on driving. on my 705 i have a .12 re novamega engine in it with no hopups at all except for gearing.the handling is just off the hook on this car if you set it up right at the track

Most of the people would say that the NTC3 is better because most of them own it. I would personally go for the 705.. I just like the design of it better..

Make your decision on parts availability, cost and things of this nature. Once you have done your homework, then you will know which car is best for you.
The fastest car on the market wont make YOU a better driver, if there is a really good driver at your track or parking lot you will never catch him until you learn how to drive. Does not matter what engine you use or car.
Most good drivers can perform on the same level no matter what brand they are driving.

Good luck

I have a NTC3 - with lots of hop ups. I love the car. Very nice and now that I put all the hop ups, it is very fast.

Go for the Serpent - You will be much happier.

705 is hard to setup, it's a really good car but if you are not an expert...

NTC3 is easier to setup, and also is faster, and you don't need to be an expert to go fast.

I own an NTC3 with a sirio engine and y go faster than a lot so serpents in my local racetrack.

Here in Spain serpent is the brand with more cars on the competitions, so is the car that most people buy, but after observing them....the 705 is not really good, the centax 2 breaks (the axial bearing doesn't last), chassis isn't as rigid as it was on impulse pro...

The NTC3 also has some problems, for example diff boxes are really bad, you must fix them adding to big screws to hold the shock tower, and also you must change the input shaft for one in aluminum, but this problems are not as had to solve as the one with the centax of the 705.

what would be best? getting the rear exaust engine or the side? I have a starter-box, but the rubber thing that turns the flywheel is set up for a car with the flywheel straight instead of sideways. i use this starter box to start my traxxas rustler. would this starter box work with the NTC3 kit?

my cousin has the same problem with the starter box but the best way to use it without buying a new one is just turn the car sideways to start it.thats how my cousin always does it and the one from tower hobbies it works but be careful because the car or the starter can kick back at you.because i have one and it launched my car a couple of feet because i wasn't holding the car tight enough!
