Status: offline 		Thanks guys new I would get an answer. Dean started to take apart a mag light to use for the landing light but I'm having a touch time getting the bulb out. Any hints.

Status: offline 		Larry, The bulbs popped right out for the two that I purchased for this project for a buck and a half each at True value. I have had some in previous builds where I ground out the bulbs with a Dremel and a 1/4 inch fine grit ball. Here are some images of what for me is the time consuming part of the project. Getting all the doors fitted and operating properly and cutting the trim tabs.

No flies lighting on you.  What progress.  Looking good.  I like the rudder light.  I need to add one also, but won't be functional.  Are you going to use the same method you used on your earlier T-28 for closing the door thats attached to the center of the wing with a bracket?  Be sure and send some pics of that, because I'm still not sure how to get that one closed.

Really nice work, especially the light on the rudder, I was going through my photo pack and all the photos I got show that nav light behind the cockpit.
I solved the problem with the landing light, forgot we had bought a set of landing lights from RAM lighting for the Avenger build so I am using one of those.. Makes my life that much easier.
Going to try and get the wing mounting blocks in and the flap and aileron servos this weekend..temps high 80's to mid 90's with high humidity, not going to last long at the field.. Asphalt parking lot that we fly off of.

Boyd, I may need you to email me a few pix of the wing lauout for the servos, there is a problem with the site, photos don't show and they don't load either

Status: offline 		Boyd, I am looking at the full scale right now and I might try to close them like that with a brass tube and some wire. It's gong to be trial and error as I don't have an enginering degree. . Here are images of the full scale and my first T-28 inner gear doors.

Thanks for the shots, I wonder if the position of the lights were unique to a given branch of the military, I like your idea better, we'll see when i get to that point.

Question for you. On post #71 it shows the flap servo, when I go to mount the servo between W6 and w7 I will have to notch out the fwd gear rail to get the plate to fit, by chance did you move the servo between w7 and w8. See 2 photos

Status: offline 		Larry, I believe thats called the beacon light the white nav light is on the rudder. I notice that the C model has only one on the rudder where the B and D usually have two. I hope to copy this full scale T-28D. Hope all you guys have a great 4th.

Happy weekend, finally.
Boyd, I have a question for you, I have the wing all laid up and before I mount the flap servos I wanted to build the flaps so I can get everything lined up.
When I look at the flap leading edge pix (pix from post #70) and the actual leading edge block it is quite a bit short of the top of the ribs, my question is what did you use to build up the top of the LE, I'm having a senior moment.
We are having our club warbird fly in next Saturday, I will post pix next weekend.

I had the same problem.  I'm not sure why the custom cutters made the part that way.  I just built it up.

It's frustrating when the cutouts don't match the plans.

I thought i had the wrong piece laid out. I'm really liking Deans lights on the rudder, I posted a pix of the Marine corps version and it only has 1 light on it, you need to look really close to see it but it's there.

As soon as I get the 1st flap made I can get at least the 1st servo mounted. Got an unexpected visit from my daughter so it may be a few days..LOL

Great shots, got the engines synced on the p-38 today, first flight hopefully next Saturday. Getting ready to start building the flaps so I can get the servos and linkages setup, need to pick up some balsa to build up the leading edge since the kit cutter decided that he could short the thickness.
Listen to this deal one of the guys in the club got, yellow aircraft f-16, retracts, brakes, ducted fan and a .90 Rossi engine all for..ready..$300.00 what a deal all he needs is a tuned pipe.
I will try and hold off until October but it all depends on the landscapers, if not this trip the next one.

Well, once the house and runway are done, its going to be time to check the list and see what I should build. The Trojan has always been one of my favorites, and at Oshkosh I spent a lot of time on T-28 row in the past. I built the Pica and it flew just great on a 60 even carrying those cool, slow Kraft electric retracts that never retracted at the same time.

Thanks thailazer! That was my third T-28 the first two were the 65" designed by Platt and sold to Pica. I try to improve the detail of mt previous builds.
