A very strange thing happened with my hitec 225mg's also. I was doing some hovers on my fun fly when I hit the rudder hard on the ground. No damage to the plane, as I increased power and climbed and eventually landed with no problem. While I was cleaning the plane, I noticed that the rudder would move ONLY TO ONE side without battery power...and would not move the other side. Usually, if you move the servo arms (with the switch off) they move both sides rather easily. This one kinda got locked and would move only on one side, unless I switched the battery ON. Then it would neutralize and would move ok. I did not pay much attention to this until the next flight. I took off and realized that there is no rudder control on one side. While the rudders moved both sides on the ground they wouldnt move both sides in air. I landed immediately and checked. Again the rudders are moving both sides. So I hold the rudders with my hand and move the rudder stick. This time they would only move ONE side..and there is no pressure on the other side. Basically, the air pressure was preventing the servo from moving in one direction.

I opened up the servo case and the gears were all fine...not even one gear has a damaged tooth. I am a bit puzzled. What might have happened? The servo motor is running perfectly...Could the gears have SLIPPED and still not broken? I dont know if slipping is a possibility though.

Thanks,
Anurag

You probably damaged the top case where the pin rests. If this is distorted, the gears can slip or lock up.

Mike.
