Got both sponsons side sheeting in, will block down then apply bottom sponson sheeting next. Will wait to do upper sponson sheeting after upper deck is epoxied. Ordered hardware from Gizmomotors today, should be here shortly. All Speedmaster hardware and stock Zen so I can run in NAMBA.

Sponsons bottom sheeting getting epoxied.

Been working on the Lauterbach all day....man am I pooped.

Hardware is trickling in....got rudder, strut and Zen 260. Too tired to sand nose sheeting but here's some pics of what I've done so far.

Been out of town for business for a while and hardware has been working its way in. Able to spend some time on my build today.....got Zen mounted, stuffing tube hole drilled and transrom aluminum reinforcement in place. Still waiting for more hardware to come in so I can finish with mock up. Then I'll continue with epoxy and sheeting. Here's some pics..

Thanks Advanced builder

Got stuffing tube and 11/32 sleeve cut, drilled (for oiler) and ready to be epoxied. Have some Carbon Fiber cloth comming so I'll take my time to make it strong and look right. Working on rudder rod, only have small hole drilled in radio box but 3/8" hole in transrom. Thinking about putting a sleeve in transrom so rubber seal has something to fasten to. Was also planning on going with CF rods, its 18"+ from rudder to servo and I don't want it to flex. I bought a couple of CF rods and they do not flex at all...we'll see. Let me know what you think.

Pipe came back from Jet-Hot Coatings so got it mocked up along with water lines drilled and glued in. Still waiting for CF cloth so I can finish up with stuffing tube.

CF cloth finally came in the other day. Going to try and get entire hull epoxied (inside) this weekend. Here's some pics of progress.

....Got it finished late last night. Here's some pics of finish product. Noodles go in then off to sheeting

Finished up sheeting support and noodles are in. Getting ready to block sand entire upper bulkheads etc.. to have sheeting fit.

I noticed the carbon fiber cloth, what is the thickness & where did you get it? Looks like you will not need a t-bar with that cloth .

Got the CF from US Composites...its a 4" 5.7oz carbon fiber tape that I doubled up(2 layers). With MAS FLAG its as tough as nails. Here's a link to the company:

Good site ,gtopillado I did notice the long rudder linkage. You may want to add the next dia pipe, over the linkage. I will help to keep all the play out of the rudder linkage, coming up off that last framing rib or 1/2 way of the linkage.

Was thinking about having the 4/40 rod JB'd to inside of CF rod for even more rigidity.

Started on block sanding entire deck to get ready for sheeting. Went and bought a few more clamps, I must have 75.00 in clamps. Did one side with tape and it worked out fine but I prefer clamps. Used a thick piece of aluminum stock to mate the 2 sides together, clamped it down and used wedges to make sure that all surface is flat . Here's a few pics of the process..

Working on back sheet now....

Finished upper sheeting. Really happy how it came out, some slight waves but nothing major. Going to block sand tops and insides but leave outside overhang for clamping veneer. Will probably work on cowl frame/sheeting before veneer goes on.

Great weekend to work on the LB. Got cowl frames glued and then applied sheeting. Not done with fit or finish, want to reinforce entire cowl sections but here's some pics of what I've done...

Its been a while since I've been able to crunch some time on the LB, but worked on it for a few hours last night. Fitting upper cowl to hull, I should have waited on upper sheeting before I did this. Its not impossible to do, just takes more time with fitment. Now I got to do engine cowl and then finally I can start with veneer. Here's some pics....

Finished frames and cowl sheeting, blocked everthing down and did some bodywork on bow. Used Plio-Grip flex filler...work out perfectly. Here's some pics....

Started working on veneer, got engine compartment sheeting completed. Will wait to fit it when upper sheeting is complete. Starting to work veneer on upper decks, this is going to be a slow process as it wants to bends so I'm gluing it 1 section at a time. Want to have upper deck in 1 piece (transom upper will be the only cut). Here's some pics.....

Mahogany veneer is on, but had to cut the transrom top so it almost layed down in 1 piece. Will patch that in later after I sand and refit pieces together again. Really happy how wood grains lined up and how it looks in general, here's some pics...

Got port and starboard sponson sheet on along with veneer, even added some veneer to transom. Turfin mount is on and then put 2 coats of FLAG to entire upper sheeting. Starting to come alive....must say I'm really happy how she's turning out. Here's some pics of her progress....
