Heat Shrink tube size for Deans Ultra?
I am trying to find out the proper diameter heat shrink tubing to use with Deans Ultra connectors for the following wire gauges:
18 gauge
16 gauge
14 gauge
Radio shack has 1/8" and 1/4" diameter tube. Tower Hobbies does not identify the diameter of the tube that comes with their Deans plugs, so I don't know what it is.

I usually take my connector to Lowes and buy the package of the size I need, a variety pack and then one that fits over the whole connector. That way I don't come home with the wrong size.

The Dean’s Ultra comings with pieces of heat shrink. The picture does not show it but they do.

1/4 inch should do unless you are doubling up wires, then maybe 3/8?
Extra heat shrink from Home Depot or Lowes as Panther said.
If you want to internet order I suggest:

Now THAT is a good wiring job Panther F! No viper's nest of cables going every which way they can. I will be attempting to duplicate a layout similar to what you have. I have a bag of black plastic ties (like yours) lying on a shelf in a cabinet and I am now going to put them to good use.
I never thought of looking a Lowes for the tubing or wires. Will check them out over there.
Thanks Doug, the picture didn't show tube with the one male / female pair for $3.09, so I was assuming they didn't include it with that package. I am going to "Dean" my battery connections, drive motor connections (after the struggle I had unplugging them the other night with bullet connectors) and my ON/OFF switch (I don't want to have to detach the switch from its mounting location to remove the DMD unit from the tank). At some time in the future I may want to swap the DMD/MF back and forth to another tank too, so all connections should be unpluggable.

Thanks for the compliment RSEA! I like to 'hard wire' ALL my motors in since they will be more of a permanent resident, sort of speak. That way I have more connectors to go around.

You can also get zip ties and Velcro there. Lowes and Home Depot are great hobby shops! You would be amazed at all the hobby stuff they have.

That's right Dugster. Besides Harbor Frieght, Lowes has all the sizes of tie-straps you'll ever need.

1/4 should do all 3 wires, if your your gonna do a double up you still should be able to use 1/4 , just make sure you keep the second one as far away from the heat when you do the first one, then if you want to go over the connector like someone posted, then 3/8, those are the sizes I use, a very good quality heatshrink ,will go to under 1/8th fully shrunk

I have this:

Best investment ever if you do a lot of electronics. Buy once and be done with it, all the heatshrink tubing you could use in an assortment of sizes. Highly recommended!
