Well, we have another baby shipping out today. A Synergy is on it's way to a special customer and friend. He made an unusual request that we take it out and test fly, so we programmed the model into the 9Z, tuned up the motor (DZ, we spent an hour getting it right, but then it ran like a charm after sitting for more than a year since the last run), and took it for three test flights for regulating. We will send the programmed CAMPAC to the customer...talk about a ready-to-fly airplane!!!
The airplane is fantastic. Flies just like every other Synergy...as close to perfect as possible. The rudder is nothing short of incredible in it's effectiveness and the airplane flies so light on easily that it was hard to say goodbye (man, it can be tough to box them up and send them out). The customer provided the paint and covering scheme and it really looks wonderful.
Here are a few shots of the airplane, pilot (JP) and crewchief (me) for the test flight.
Well, JP could have flown the airplane all day, but it is not ours, so we stuck to trimming and regulating and nice gentle landings. Besides, we had our fun-time machines to fly to get ready for a picnic which was yesterday.
A very nice club in the north of Belgium invited us to fly at their picnic. They put on a really well organized show, worked a programmed schedule that gave everyone plenty of air time and time to relax in between flights, and then fed us as though we were orphans that had not eaten for weeks.
On a different note, there were two brother flying control line at the picnic and I could not believe their skills. Pattern figures, hovering, harriers, anything that can be done with an airplane that does not involve rolling was performed at the ends of their lines. Simply an incredible display of skill at what many of us regard as a simple mode. The hovering tail touches with a little Hellcat on Control-line was a real treat to watch, as where the overhead knife-edges, cubans, squares, triangular loops. Wow!!! Who would have thought that control line could do so much?
Hi Robert I didn't see you at the first leg of the Irish Team Trials 2 weeks ago, are you not flying this year. Will you be at the competition in south Lenisters this weekend.
Having 'difficulties' so I started trying to do some form of 'practise' with a 6 pound Yamamoto with a 46FX that can't take off straight! But the Funtana will be flying, TOMORROW! I'll see you in Portlaoise probably, even if I'm not flying. see you soon! RT.

It's the prettiest yet, at least to me. I asked Ardasher (our great painter) to make a couple of color changes. The canopy fades from gold to a mother of pearlesence type hue (the idea was originally from Ardasher), with the ZNLine logo on the nose done in gold fase instead of silver. We reversed the red and blue on the nose to better suit the gold and it turned out sooooo sweet it is incredible.
The rudder has just been finished and I will start outfitting it later this week. It should see the air in about ten days. I am very VERY excited to fly it. I expect to gain an immediate average 30 point increase on my P-03 schedule with this airplane and all digital servos and DZ pumping away up front.
I shall have a dozen photos as soon as it is finished.

Hi MArk, GREAT lookng Synergy - can't wait to see your Enigma. Since you seem well versed in CPLR's designs: how does the flight performance of the Alliance compare to the Synergy specifically in regards to the FAI schedules. Thanks in advance, Will B.
Will, The Synergy is a modified Alliance. Shorter wing span, slight alteration of profile and geometry. Shortened nose for better CG placement. Snaps are improved, most other characteristics remain about the same.
The idea to shorten the wings became almost universal. When 2x2 became the limits, everybody went to those limits. After a few years of redesigning and testing, it was learned that snaps are better with a shortened wingspan and altered geometries. Many profiles now exist that function very well. There are more traditional profiles with the highpoint near the 33% chord area at root, then others with the high point closer to the 40% chord, and then the interesting double concave reflex of the Hydaway. I cannot begin to explain the differences in aerodynamics, but they all seem to fly just fine in my eyes.
A very beautiful model in my opinon, JP's Enigma looked very beautiful @ Romilly. Nice colour scheme too, From what I have seen ZN's finishing skills are first class. You got to fly the Synergy - How lucky are you guys??? Does JP have preference for the Enigma over the Synergy, or is it down to what you personally prefer?
Does anybody have any idea of what Christophe will be taking to Poland this year? Will it be 2x Suxess's or the tried and proven Synergy?
JP flies the Enigma, but everytime he flies a Synegy he smiles really big. It sure is smooth and snaps are out of this world. However, the Enigma is also great. I may have to build a Synergy for myself and see which I like better after a few hundred flights. These decisions are becoming very difficult these days with Supremes, and Suxesses knocking at the door of competativeness.
For Poland, only Christophes knows what he shall bring. Keep in mind that he will be going to win, so he will select whichever of his airplanes he feel will give him the best chance for succes (no pun here, nothing to read into).

By the way, my Enigma is back in the shop with finished rudder...I'll start outfitting it really soon. Some late night oil will be burned, I would like to fly it in Eeklo on the 20th if I can get two days of practice on it.
I was actually near to you at Romilly, I was the guy in glasses with the Probuild team. I am quite shy, so I'm afraid I didn't introduce myself. You made me laugh about the Pizza's, "they were thin at the edges - getting fatter towards the middle - a bit like you and me Bob", refering to judge to Bob Ailes stood next to us - LOL!!! Your Majestic flew well for it's age.
Thanks for the info - what happend to Arnaud Poyet lately - haven't heard about him for a while. JP's Enigma is stunning - who ever did the colour scheme needs a pay rise. For me, one of the prettiest models at Romilly. Having said that the paint work on Christophe's Synergy was beautiful, I tried to find a fault but couldn't - pure perfection. A bit like his flying!
