Well, the 11T pinion drops the overall head speed. We had chopped the throttle curve way down due to the old pinion. With the new pinion, you can bring the curve back up to get the same head speed as before or you can leave it where it is if you are more comfortable with the head speed now.

Ivan, I envy you, sir!  To be involved in racing is the coolest thing... not to mention you're a world record holder.  Just too cool!

Ivan - I didn't see any snow in the background, did you shovel it all???? I'll try the throttle curve as is & mess with it later. Thanks.

Ivan,

I saw your post on the freak about the initializing thing.  I just thought I'd let you know I had it twice today.  Both on my 450 pro with a sat and no receiver during setup.  I rebound between times this happened.  It if happens again, I'll replace the sat.

That's a weird problem with your electronics (you too Scott). That would certainly give me pause to fly.
Nice looking gator.

Scott-
Heli sounds great!

Chuck-
Yeah, I figured you were kidding! It would be way to wide for my frame.
The plane is really coming along. Looking forward to it's maiden.

Max-
Welcome back to the land of RC!

Another busy week w/ no flying. That will change this week.

Heeeeeeeey!

Just thought I'd drop in and say hi! I have no place being here now... my shed and my life are completely devoid of anything RC now! I sold it all up at Christmas! Mountain Biking plays a big part of my life still as does road riding. I bought a new road bike in September last year - that a bicycle road bike not motorcycle! Getting lots of kilometers under my belt and feeling better for it - despite the odd spill over the handlebars!

I haven't had time to go back through the posts (and probably won't) but telling enough to say t hat Ivan you are still going from strength to strength in the car world! Whats the world record then?

Attached is me on the roadie and this is a link to me on the mtb:

Hope all is well wi th everyone - take care

Jon

See - I can't even remember how to post a YouTube link properly! I also spotted the last time I logged in - September 2010! Where the hell did that time go?

Jon,

It's good to hear from you, again.  While I'm sad you're not into helicopters anymore (I really enjoyed watching your flying videos), it's good to know that you're still out tearing something up!

Dave,

Yes, it's an odd problem.  I figure if it powers up and I can control it, it's not going to power down and make it uncontrollable so I just fly it anyway.  I'm going to replace the satellite receiver anyway... I've got two laying around.

Ivan, you're running just a sat, too?

Scott

Yes Scott, single satellite on the Mini P. Have you posted in the BX forum about the issue?

No, not yet.  I figured the thing to do was swap out the sat, which I did yesterday.  It bound okay and I did about 20 power cycles on it without a problem.  Perhaps it's fixed.  If it happens again, I'll post about it.

Got my five bladed head in today for my MD500 Trex 450 scale project. I didn't think about it when I ordered it but it won't work with my XL frame. The lower swash is set up for 120° and the XL is 90° with mechanical pitch. No biggie though.. I have a frame that I can swap in. I have it mocked up and it looks pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing this airborne.

Dave?  What do you think?  Robotic control taken to the next level?  Path generator?  New Animusic?

Great find, Ivan!

Very interesting video!

I crammed all the Flymentor stuff on the 450. It looks like h3ll but I'm hoping it flies OK.

Ivan - will you be around this weekend? I'd like to bring the 450 over & borrow your programmer!

Chuck, Saturday I think I am headed to Indiana to drop a car off in the morning. Not too sure how long that will take. Sunday I have an appointment at 11 am to get my vision rechecked. Rick is supposed to drop off a couple helis for me to work on tonight at some point. I was thinking about heading over to the dome tonight too. Let me know if you think you can work around that schedule.

Ivan - Sounds like a busy weekend for you! I'm in no hurry, hell I've had the Flymentor almost 6 mo! I'll see you at the dome & we can talk.

Scott- how much did you add to your boom on the mCP X? It was a servo, not the mainboard, thank the heligods!

Dome adventure - I destroyed the mCP X tail motor holder going tail in into the golfball sweeper. I happened to have a spare stock boom, 5 minute fix! I was hovering in the basement to test the repairs & tried a little nose in & lost it. It hit the steel I-beam at full speed. Took a chunk out of the main blade & when I tried to start it up again, it just sat on the floor quivering! New blades & 3 rebuilt servos later, it was flying fine again but not in the basement! LOL

Chuck
