Hey all!,
I have a Yellow aircraft Cap10b, When I flew it ,I had to add a bunch of down elev. trim for it to fly level. When i go to full power it needs even more. The CG is right where the say. Is this a incedence problem or a thrust problem. If it matters It has a Moki 1.8.
thanks for your help,
Frank

I built one quite a few yrs ago with a Quadra 42 that i still have. First flight nearly did a loop on take off, gets your attention real quick! Took it home, put an incident meter on it and had to raise the leading edge of the stab about 1/4 in to get 0-0 incidents. Flew fine after that, except for the high speed snap. Does best Lomceveks better than any plane I've ever had. Just check your incidence.

Thanks for the input... i'll check that out. And your right it does do the best lomceveks. I did a waterfall with it and man does it tumble!!!! that caught me really off guard!!! Im use to flying my DP 330l and it slows down to a stop before stalling..
thanks ,Frank

Frank:
Try a snaproll up high and hold the controlls in and it will end up doing the most vertical knife edge spin Ive ever seen but it comes down like a brick.

When I did the waterfall for the first time,Holy Cow!!!! I did it from the Positive snap and and then went to full down elev.It did a waterfall, It flipped 4 times in a wink of the eye.and I was low!!
It did fall like a brick like you said.. I don't think im going to mess with the stab.I'll live with it,it looks too pretty to rip the tail apart.

Flypaper,

You mentioned a "high speed snap". I think I am experiencing this. My trainer flies well at low and mid speed but when the throttle is opened up all the way, the plane will "snap" upwards as if someone is yanking back on the stick. I have checked to be sure that control surfaces are straight and CG is correct.

Is this an incidence problem and how would I go about checking/fixing??

I have designed my own Cap 10b (80" and i'm agree with you: this aircraft make snap roll like hell !! I have flow a Cap 21 too and she don't snap like the Cap 10. WOW !
Don't know for yours, but mine was very easy to land with the flap down. I have a Zenoah G-45 with a smoke system and it's very a beautiful aircraft in the air ! :

I have some pics of my Cap 10b on my website, if you want to see it...

Yes, mine is a *****cat below 40 mph with the flaps down too. Working on a third wing for it. To much fun to fly to trash.
Kiel:
I should have explained further. High speed snap is really a high speed snaproll. Two ways to fix yours or a combination of the two. Shim up the trailing edge of the wing a bit at a time till it flies flat and straight, will penetrate wind better too, or put downthrust in the engine a bit at a time.

xtraflyr - The semi kit (plan, cowl, wheel pants & canopy) is 110 USD (shipping inclued). You need the laser cut wood from Laser lisard at 89 USD. And you have to buy wood required (sheeting, main spar, stringer...).

I don't sold ARF, I don't enough time to build my aircraft, I can't build for others...

If you need more info, just send me a e-mail !!

Yep
Sounds like you need to set the plane up on a stand "Level" and start measuring.
Mine did climb like a home sick angel the first flight but thats because It weighed 19 lbs
and took off with 10% flaps on a Webra Bully. After the flaps sucked up the plane leveled out and flew on the wing.
The tail had -0- incedence, the wing is already set at the factory, the fire wall is already set at the factory. I did add right thrust when I took the Bully off and installed a Brison 2.4 but no down thrust. Flew perfect. Snaps at 19lbs......scarry....thats all I can say.....watching these 40% planes snap .......childs play........snaping an overwieght over power Cap10b ........better bring an extra pair of pants.

next Cap10b project is a Jerry Van Hesswych 40% Cap10b ......140" ZDZ 160.

Wow........
