OK, Now iīm building a plane like a seduction with a diablotin wing to reduce wing loading and tip stalling, but for the opinnions I have read here, this type of wings (constant chord) doesnīt want to snap at all (also rolls slow) and highly tapered wings snaps better but when you are under stall I think that we donīt want that... so there is someone who can illuminate me about this "optimal" geometry?
Thanks

Hi kamlooper;
The fun 15 is waiting for lite covering (maybe litespan or solarfilm) and the 15 LA; so... not much news about that

Greetings.

PS: Still trying to put my hands in a digital camera

Tapered wings look great, no doubt, but for a fun fly plane with a thick wing I really don't think they're all that necessary. My Wasp has big thick constant chord "Hershey" bar wings and it rolls quite quickly. Obviously big honking ailerons powered by correctly sized servos with adequate strength and speed help. I'm not saying tapered thickness and chord wings don't roll faster, obviously they do, but they are much more work to build. Highly tapered wings tend to stall easier too, so I guess it all depends on the flight characteristics and "look" you are looking for...

Taper wings, as a 'rule of thumb' have a tendency to tip stall easier, where constant cord does not tip stall, 'rule of thumb'. Tip stalling the wing will allow the aircraft to perfrom snaps quicker though have some other characteristics that you don't necessarily want. With a constant cord wing design, you want allot of drag on the wing with a Fun-Fly. A thick foil with a blunt leading edge will allow the wing to stall for flips, i.e. snaps. Both a constant cord and a tapered wing has their advantages and disadvantages when it comes to Fun-Flys. It depends on what flight characteristics that you want. 'You can't have your cake and eat it too!'
You just need to fly both and decide what you prefer.
