My hulls are 40" but i have been having a hard time getting them made. ive been pushing to have one for the last few months now. sounds like i may have one ready monday or tuesday (really hoping).

Status: offline 		So if i do end up getting a hull (or two) this week i will be looking at builing me another one up very soon.
What do you guys recommend for an engine. I went from a weedeater (years ago) to a stock Zenoah 260 to the stock RCMK S254 seen above. the two options im thinking of at the moment are a RCMK K30 or the Zenoah 290 for the extra midrange torque, which would be the better motor to go for?

Status: offline 		Tried this in the main Gas Boat Forum but no response, so I will try it here.

I have an idea that I have drawn up with Solidworks and would like you guys opinion.

I have a plan for a 50cc Twin driving 2 Jet Pumps piped into 1 outlet and nozzle.

Do any of you have any ideas about what I have planned or do you see problems with my design?

Status: offline 		Going from a singe engine, through a gearbox to twin pumps and back to a single outlet has four main issues I can see.

1 - loss of energy through gearbox and twin pumps
2 - flow problems where 2 pumps join into one nozzle (complicated stator required)
3 - you want the uptake as far back on the hull as possible, so you will have lots hanging out the rear
4 - when the hull leans over in turns you will likely suck air in one of the uptakes & cavitate/airate the system

Status: offline 		With jets you want torque more than rpm from your power source. I'd stick with a single engine to a single pump. When you design your impeller make sure the blades overlap so you get the best prime possible. The Jettec pump (re named swashdrive) is the only model jetpump currently on the market with overlapping blades. Not one of the Graupner, MH$ and Hobbyking pumps have overlapping blades and all, from my experience, suffer badly with cavitation and pump priming.

Picked up a couple of new huls on Saterday, Started on one, will keep the other for a while before I start on it.
My latest boat, will be powered with a RCMK K30S, Jettec jet unit. Got the paint and carry handle/roll cage done. Should be finished in a couple of weeks.

Status: offline 		well got my sprint boat wet last night.
running 1/2 to 3/4 throttle most of the time though. I need to make my roll cage to add weight forward a bit and a spoiler to reduce swamping it when it spins out.
i am reasonably happy with it so far,nothing a bit of tweeking and tuning wont fix

Another one complete ready to get wet. Had problems with the 929 carby fitted standard, took it off chucked it in the ocean and fitted a 257 and it now runs great like it should.

Status: offline 		it is a swashdrive jet sprint hull.
the gasket is made with a piece of rubber bike tube. it has a smaller hole cut in the middle to create a compression fit around the jet unit and the a flange fits over and bolts to the transom.

No it's not a Davette, it is made by a bloke out here, the seal is from a truck inertube, thicker than a bike tube. Will take photos of the next one that is on the go now.
