Status: offline 		After I get a few builds under my belt I want to get a DC-3 kit ... I dont want it too big, 70-110" wing span would be nice. and I want something that isnt gonna put my in the poor house (this hobbie is doing well enough without help)

anyone have any ideas/own a kits that would be good for a relative newbie (have built 2 ARFs and just bought my first kit[an old stuka model (1960-70???) static/rubberband/CL/freeflight model].... I plan on building a few more before I try something like this)

I'm probably going to do it up in the civilian silver scheme as the airshow I go to every year has one there(I plan on taking pics and copying it)

I dont know ... i just like the old slow birds (dc-3, j-3 cub) better than the mustangs and spits

I have seen a couple, and they look and fly very nice.

Status: offline 		I've finished the Top Flite DC-3, but haven't flown it yet. This kit has probably the most complete building directions I've ever seen. Certainly not a beginners kit, but with the directions provided, should be no problem.
I got my package from Tower with two .40 engines for under $300. I finished mine as an AC-47 "Spooky" gunship.
Next decent weekend of weather we get here, It is going to get a test flight.

about 1/3 the labor of a TOP FLITE... Top Flite has farrrrrrrrrr too many gazinta's.

American eagle has foam wings, fiberglass fuselage, fiberglass nacells....
Top Flite is all balsa kit... Are they kidding in this day and age?

If you want a career building a model, buy T/F, else check out AE DC3/C47.

Here's mine... 4 years old now.....
