Status: offline 		Glad to hear it lives on. What turbine is he using? Any thougths on the flame-out yet? I too am fine tuning the "setup" for good landings cause she is a real floater if you are too fast. the stance issue that was solved with spacers was to allow more AOA at touchdown without hitting the tail which allows it to slow better. landing too fast seems to be the real issue.

Status: offline 		Turbine had a electronic burp....reprogrammed the tx/ecu and its fine. Get as much down flap as possible and set the elev trim to give a good hands of glide with just a little power. The airplane has a tendancy to hop after landing getting it as slow as possible will stop it.

Status: offline 		I did try the spacer technique and it did give a little more clearance but that really isn't the solution. The springs need to be stiffer. I've been on the hunt ever since. We really shouldn't have to do all this for $600 gear. I wish prolink still made gear for the DV8R when I bought mine. The other issue I have is that one wheel/brake locks up tighter then the other, giving me that nice little slide on the runway.

Status: offline 		Has anyone cut any holes on the side of the DV8R to let more air into the turbine? I really don't think that top inlet is grabbing much air.

Status: offline 		My friends only has the top cutout and even that is partially blocked by the fuel tank. I was a bit concerned about that at first but it doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Status: offline 		Mike. What engine are you using? I have the p-80 and no need for additional air. If you look back throuh the thread there are several examples of additional inlets. Not sure its needed though if tou are not up in the 120+ size though.

Thanks for the reply. I am actually using a P-120 and I just feel like there is no air getting to it. It was suggested to me at the field that the top inlet really isn't doing much anyway. He described what was needed for air to actually flow down the inlet rather then the turbine trying to suck what it can. I feel like a P-120 should have more punch then it is showing. I'm pretty sure it is starving for airflow.

If I need to replace my nose wheel I may try a smaller one but what I can try also is set some braking on the mains before touch down to see if that will help. 
The real reason this bird likes to hop is the mains are too far forward making it too lite on the nose. I would bet if it was redesigned with the mains a inch 
or two back it would not be so easy to bounce on landing.

Status: offline 		I eliminated the intake on top and made new outlets on the side. Using a Rhino and it seems to work fine. This is noab's old jet and the 1" spacers that he had machined for the mains work great, they give the aircraft the correct angle of attack on the ground. I have only gotten about 12 flights on it so far, but have only bounced it once when I got too slow.Might try crow, but it seems to do just fine with flaps only.

Status: offline 		The reason it bunny hops is because the nose wheel is lower then the main wheels. IF you have the DV8R level to the ground you will see the nose wheel is lower then the mains. So when you are landing and think the plane is level the nose wheel hits before the mains. You flare nose high before touchdown it will land on the mains first.

Status: offline 		I flew mine with a P-70 for a while which produces 17LBS + and it flew great. You should be fine with the Wren.

Status: offline 		I've got no problem ripping the covering off and redoing it....sometimes you can save $$ if it has to be ordered by going ARC. If they had em in stock I'd just get the normal one and strip it.

I've always liked the look of this sport plane.

Seems they are going with a new distributor or builder for the model and it won't be available for a few more months as they get prototypes in.
