Delta Mike, thanks for the input. Yours look awesome. Love the scheme. I can tell just the way yours sit that your mains and tail are a bit higher then mine. I know your mains are 1 inch longer. When my jets sits like yours, you can see lots of positive incidence in the wing and tail surface. Not that it makes a big deal as I have gotten mine to fly great. However, I just want the additonal safety of longer struts like you have. So I am going to lengthing mine 1". This i have measure will give me about 7 inches from the tail to the ground. After this, I may put a smaller nose wheel on it. Would not hurt as the main nose wheel sticks out a bit and this would make for a cleaner looking design.

Larry

The Sierra Gear is the best! We used the mechanics with the Robart struts.. very good combo with the Glennis Wheels and brakes. Gerry what was up with all the pitching on the landing approch?

Hi LARRY, I added bombs to our DV8R which really adds to the fun.. Note where I put the air intakes, The side air intakes work much better then the naca scope on the top of the Fuse. I think with both sides opened up we get much better air flow then through the top. Much cleaner... install.

Hey guys, not trying to start a big heated discussion, but I am trying to see what the scoop is. I've been looking at the DV8R for a long time, and when looking at TBM's website, they've kinda confused me about the landing gear. Here is what the site says:

LANDING GEAR WITH MAIN WHEEL BRAKES - This is a very robust landing gear designed specifically for the TBM DV8R. The original gear from Robart and brakes from Sierra Precision is hard to obtain and marginal quality. TBM designed this new gear with brakes. The trailing link landing gear makes grass runways much easier to handle! (photo included)

My question is in reference to the "Marginal Quality" statement. I don't know about the Robart stuff, but I have direct experience with Sierra's gear, and have had no bad experiences. The stuff I've bought or been exposed to has been top notch.

Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

Oh, and on another note...you guys really need to come out with a smaller dv8r.

Thought the same thing but in the end scratch built one. I did remove the anhedral from the stabs for the reason you mentioned & changed the nose. 21 pounds, Wren SS, Eurosport canopy, still flying after 4 years. - John.

Gerry,
Have you guys figured out anything on the canopies that did not come painted? (Russian, and Sport Scheme). Has anyone painted theirs? If so, please post some pics.
