Listen here Jemo, you guys seem to think that you don't even need a radio to fly. Next time you fly try putting your radio on the ground and just fly with your fingers. Lets see how that works buddy.

I didn't meen anything offensive, lets keep it friendly.
What I meen by the you doing the flying is, that you obviously need a radio to fly!!, but it won't make you a hot shot pilot if you have a very good top of the range radio.
what servos are you using Chad?

Most people buy because of availability of sales and service. I happen to have bought Futaba because of that in my area.

However if the who's to be would like to sponseer little ohh me I would love to fly XYZ... too!

Hey if you want smiley faces i'm sure you can hang out with the hippies on the corner. As for radios.....This is serious business and I don't find it funny at all.

Most threads on RCUniverse are informative and interesting but this one has gotten out of control. Please stop letting Reb insite you all. As far as the moderator goes if it keeps up could you stop the thread.I'm happy for all the folks that like Futaba and those who like JR and even Airtronics. I'm just a very happy person and I want for everyone to have a happy day and a great flying season.

wow, I never imagine that this topic will go hot. I really sorry... only wanted to inform about the change and see comments about it. For example, if this move will hurt Futaba because "One of The Best Aerobatics Pilots in the World" now fly JR ?

I remember Chip Hyde when he flew for Futaba then JR in the 80's and 90's and return to Futaba again.

I doubt it, the best pilot in the world still flies Futaba

I'm surprised he did this since he is a Mode 1 flier. He'll have a mechanical slider instead of a digital trim on elevator. Maybe he actually likes the 3+1 Digital Trims and the analog elevator trim .... I just checked and they offer a Mode 1 version of the transmitter, so this probably isn't an issue after all.

I fly and prefer Futaba, but JR/Horizon Hobby is doing a better job in the sponsorship department than Futaba/Great Planes. Just look at the pylon winners in the Nats 2001 Model Aviation issue.

9150's on ailerons
9252 on elevator
9402 on rudder
9602 on throttle

They are all excellent servos, I cant say that one is any better than the other.

I fly Mode 1 also. Horizon switch's the trims over so that you have analog on Throttle. One thing that the Zap has over the JR 10X is the kill switch on throttle. On the JR you have to use the trim at the low end to kill. A slight disdvantage for mode 1 flyers in partiular. Maybe we should change the focus of this thread from 1 of Futaba vs JR to 1 of is Mode 1 better than Mode2. I tried Mode 2 last year for the whole season and it was imposible for me so now I switched back to Mode1. For me it is the better way.

We should all be thankful for the competition between the radio manufacturers.
If we only had ONE, can you imagine what these things would cost us.

I'll bet you that radios would cost a fortune if there was only 1 choice. There has always been strong debates as to the best radios. Back in the 70's it was Kraft or Pro-line. Both worked very well.In the 60's it was Orbit,Kraft or Logitrol. Hmmmmmmmm none of those worked very well. I remember losing numerous planes every season due to radio falure. Radios today are so good that it does make this debate kind of funny.
