Pullstart for?? The T-Maxx comes with the E-Z Start!

Instead of the pull Start you need a 7.2v battery!

P.S. Get some extra glow plugs!

do the math:

$20 pull start + $20 glow igniter = $40

$40 peak charger + $20 battery = $60

i know i can get a $20 prophet charger, but if i get a charger i will want to use it for everything so i can upgrade to a 5cell reciever pack. either way though, i'd much rather have a pull start. ive heard too much bad stuff about the ez start. i like a pullstart because well, its always there. plus, i think i read that you can tell if your engine is in need of tuning witha pull start since it wont start as easily.

Be wishing for the E-Z Start! You can get a battery for$12 and a charger at Radio Shack for about $20! If you run into any tunning issues your arm will wish you had the E-Z Start System!LOL

Yeah - don't get rid of EZ-Start. I have 2 TMaxx 2.5's - My 1/8 scale buggy is better for both racing and bashing though.

hmmm

most people say that they get rid of the glow plug wire. think that this will be ok?

http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F009%5F010%5F000%5F000&product%5Fid=23%2D322

also, what about a cheap glow igniter, like maybe a $10 alkaline one for a week or two. until i can afford a better rechargable one.

You can get a Great Planes starter for $13 & a rechargeable batter for about $3. Well, from Tower Hobbies at least. I don't have a LHS so I don't know how much of a markup they have compared to Tower.

edit
You might want to get a 4 way wrench & a good phillips head if you don't have tools.

I can tell you this...If you have half of the stalling issues that a lot of people (myself included) have/had with the 2.5, and you have a pullstart to deal with also, I'd invest in a glove too for all the pulling you'll be doing on that 2.5. Unless of course, you want blisters on your hand(s) . IMHO I would stay with the EZ-start. Out of curiosity, what is It about the pullstart that is attractive to you? Unless you're racing, there is no need to get rid of the EZ start. Also, you mentioned something about knowing when you have to tune based on what the pull start feels like. You'll know you have to tune based on the way your engine is running.

"I like the pullstart because, well, it's always there".
Ummm...yeah???, so is the EZ start.

hmmm, on a post in the traxxas forum, everyone recommended it... they are why everyone hates their 2.5s jk

so i think ill go with the $30 battery and charger from RS, should i worry about a glow igniter or will the ez start be good for a week or two? i dont have a problem with charging it every night, but being nicd, should i really worry about taking care of it as far as discharging and stuff goes? lol. yeh im lazy ABOUT how many times can i expect for the engine to fire up with the stock setup and using the blue wire witha 2000mah battery before i gotta recharge it. to discharge, maybe i could get a small weight and hold the button down

And you want a pullstart!!!???!!! The best thing for lazy people IS the ez-start. It sounds like you are basing your opinions of what you want based on what other people tell you. Find out for yourself what you like. If you don't like the ez start after a week, then go buy the pullstart. But don't jump the gun and go buy stuff based on what other people tell you. You just might like somthing different then someone else does.

If I were you I would get a fail safe so your truck doesn't run away from you. Als get the fuel filter before you run your truck and tire glue.

Yeah do not forget to glue your tires. It was almost 3 weeks before my wife glued hers on. She kept having to put them back on rim everytime. It was funny to watch.
