I have a Thunder Tiger J3 Cub ready for first flight. It balances at 33% of the mean cord back from the leading edge or 3.75 inches.
The instructions call for 4 to 4.5 inches or 35% to 40% of the mean cord. The wing is flat bottomed. Looks like a Clark Y. Span is 82 inches. Cord is 11.25 inches. Length is 48 inches.
Any thoughts on where a Cub should balance ? 40% seems a bit much. Any thoughts?

This is a bit of shameless self promotion, but if you have access to Excel give my spread sheet a try.

I'd be interested in the results.
