I've just got this cool Benq camera, it shoots short videos (over 10mins on my 128mb SD). I was wondering if I could tie the camera to the plane, and press the shutter, to make it start flimming, since I dont have an extra channel/servo for shots. Would this be a good thing? I have a trainer, and im thinking of mounting the cam under my wing, im gonna use rubber bands to hold it. This sounds a little scary, cuz it may drop off... Any ideas on fitting the camera?

Not familiar with the camera but if you think the rubberbands will hold it pretty securely, add a piece of double sided tape or possibly a piece of velcro in addition to the rubberbands.
As far as pressing the button and just letting it run, I dont see where that wouldnt work. Just make sure you wait till you are about to launch the plane before starting the camera. Video of yourself starting the plane and so on is pretty boring. Believe me, I know!

Once again, I know nothing of the camera, but you can make a box for it using lite ply with a plexiglass windshield. Make it just big enough to hold the camera wrapped in foam.
I made these two boxes to hold video equipment. The Large one fit the wing of a trainer I was using and was held on with rubberbands. First attempt at this and it was much too big.
The second box was made to hold just a CCD camera, either on top of the fuse, on the side of a fuse, or under a wing.

On the first box, the plexiglass window slid in and out for easy replacement. On the second one, its attached with screws. The smaller box uses that hard plastic velcro-like stuff to secure it.
